Interesting place with a fascinating history, the courtyard is remarkable. Emmanuella was a friendly and accommodating host. We arrived late, having just arrived on the ferry to Palermo. We were prepared for it to be rural but the location is quite isolated so rather difficult to find in the dark. When we arrived the barrier was across the drive and we didn't realise that we only had to remove the padlock and push it open, this was explained when we called from the entrance. We were very grateful for the delicious dinner which Emmanuella prepared for us. We only stayed one night so weren't able to enjoy the swimming pool which looked amazing in its rural setting. We felt we were experiencing 'authentic' Sicily.

Room and facilities were fairly basic. No breakfast was provided (was this a misunderstanding about the booking?) but Emmanuella kindly gave us tea bags, a couple of eggs which we managed to boil in the rather primitive kitchen, and bread.

Bardzo miła oraz pomocna właścicielka. Przepiękna lokalizacja, zadbany przestronny budynek, czyste i przyjemne pokoje z kuchnią i przestronną łazienką (duży prysznic). Basen z nieziemskim widokiem otoczony zadbaną zielenią z pięknymi leżakami.

We hadden een leuk verblijf op een prachtige locatie! We werden goed ontvangen, hebben heel lekker gegeten en genoten van het mooie zwembad. Het is de ideale plek voor iemand die op zoek is naar absolute rust.

We kozen deze plek om tot rust te komen met een 8 maanden oude baby. Rust is er zeker, maar als je dan even toch wat wil gaan doen, dan is een uitstap ver weg. De nabijgelegen dorpen zijn leeg overdag (had misschien ook te maken met de warmte).

Truly magical! This is a third-generation working farm (wheat, olives, almonds etc.) in the middle of the rolling hills of the Sicilian countryside, about an hour and a half from Palermo. The stay exceeded our expectations. Our room (the studio) was very large and the design was simple but felt very grand and true to history. The grounds are peaceful, with a gorgeous courtyard and beautifully kept gardens. The pool is exceptional, so relaxing to sit by and watch the wind turbines on the horizon. We ate at the Masseria one evening and it was brilliant - 30 euros per person for four courses of wonderful food, including pasta made with wheat from the farm, and they really kindly accommodated our pescatarianism. The whole stay felt well worth the (very reasonable) cost and we would absolutely recommend this to anyone wanting a bit of time to wind down in an authentic, peaceful environment filled with heart. Emanuela, whose grandfather started the farm in the 1940s, was exceptionally hard working and kind. We felt very welcomed by her but were also able to enjoy the place without interference - we often felt like we had the whole place to ourselves without the fuss of a regular hotel. We feel so lucky to have stayed here.

We had a few centipedes and ants in our room, which was not a problem for us (we just moved them outside/used the spray provided, and it only reflected the nature surrounding the place) but just something to be aware of if this would be a big issue for you. The place is still very clean. Breakfast (10 euros per person) was the classic Italian spread of packaged biscuits and cakes with jam and yoghurt in our room with croissants in the morning, this is very common in Italy and quite fun but just something to be aware of if you're not used to it and are expecting a continental breakfast with eggs etc. (although Emanuela was so kind and did actually gift us some eggs from her chickens!)
