Enough to sleep over

Easy and fast to go to the destination I needed to reach (Aston Villa stadium, Birmingham centre, the airport). Fine pub on the ground floor. Friendly staff. A couple of games inside (cards, darts, billiards, etc.).

Saltley is not a quarter you would want to live in. But it is similar to the others, except for the city centre. Our room was small, but sufficient for sleeping. No EU plug adapter, no TV switcher (TV included in the room).

Most of everything was good.

I didn't like the lady with the blonde/brownish hair attitude towards me. She was kind to the 2 white guys behind me. Not so kind to me. Her attitude rude a perfect score. Don't let color be a problem.

Friendly atmosphere, comfy beds & amazing shower! Already booked for next time!

My group have stayed at The Saltley Inn multiple times and honestly it's lovely. The owners are amazing and highly accommodating. The room, while basic in terms of what they have - bed, bathroom, desk - are small but weirdly spacious. We have a lot of stuff with us but never struggle to get around each other. The beds are comfy and the shower is wonderful. I love that shower. Location while a little out of the way from the NEC where we are for conventions is directly across from a petrol station that has been so handy. It was snacks, drinks and essentials so it's really great if you forget something or want a late night snack. The owners are lovely and have been very kind every time we've stayed. The room did not come with a kettle but they lent us one and cups just super helpful all round!

I'm struggling to think of anything to be honest. It'd be a bonus if each room came with a kettle and mugs but that's not really a deal breaker for us.

lots of giggles, great staff and comfy beds

Owner Brian was lovely host. We choose not to have breakfast as there was no gluten free options, bless Brian he even went and checked for us. Location was great kids loved the pool table and the salty inn was full of laughter. Bedrooms lovely, clean and well equipped. WIFI was hit and miss. We all felt well rested and it was def value for money.

no bin in my room but the others had one so perhaps just an over sight. WiFi kept buffering

Fantastic staff with clean comfy rooms

Emma, Bryan and all the family have been amazing they welcomed us and nothing was to much trouble. The rooms were clean and comfortable the bar was brilliant with a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious. Thank you for a lovely weekend. Definitely recommend The Saltley Inn

Great if going to Villa Park

The manager and staff were immensely helpful, and couldn’t do enough to help with info and ringing the taxi. They also advised where best to get a taxi on the return journey. Cheap to stay too.

The banging of doors all night, but that’s not the fault of the management, cleanliness could be improved.

Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Rooms are great, bar prices are very reasonable. Always something going on in the bar. Perfect location for either Villa Park or St Andrews both a short Uber / taxi ride away.

Great day, good value for money if you are in the area definitely worth a-stay

Great stuff, all really friendly the landlord was great The rooms were clean and tidy better than a Travelodge I stayed in the other week, easy check in.enjoyed my stay. thank you I’m back in the area. I will definitely be booking again great value for money.

If I gave any feedback, it would just be if the cleaners could keep the noise down obviously they’ve got a job to do and that is understandable I was working night so not really there fault. with a good lick paint I’m re-Ferb in places I think this would be even better.

Great hotel at a very reasonable price.

First time in 2 weeks I've had a full eight hours of sleep. The bed was excellent.

That area of town isn't the cleanest of places. But the hotel was spotless and extremely well maintained and presented.

Amazing

Staff were amazing second time I’ve stayd here and I’d stay here again , the staff are so welcoming and accommodating, I broke my skirt before I went out and the manager got her safety pins out and she helped me mend my skirt what a babe !!

Only thing was the £2.30 for a coke can lol but can’t complain the hotels lovely and the staff are lovely I don’t have anything bad to say

Cheap enough and wonderfully cheerful - ideal location & great staff!

Easy walk from Villa Park - about 40mins, staff were lovely, room was a good size. Excellent value for money. Locals were also super friendly & welcoming for Karaoke.

Fine if your only prerequisites are a bed and cheap accomodation

Staff were helpful carrying my bags to my room when I check in. If you're looking for a cheap place to sleep this is fine for a night or two.

I got up ready to head down for breakfast at 9am when it opened, the place was locked and no one was around. I wanted another half hour and eventually had to check out skipping breakfast which was disappointing. There were no toiletries in the room at all, not even soap to wash your hands and the windowsills were absolutely filthy. When I mentioned this in the morning the owner just seems to stare at me and not say anything - very odd. All the staff sat smoking outside the front door as I left in the uber, not sure this is the nicest way to welcome your guests.

A good night's sleep

Staff were helpful. Price was good. Bed was comfortable. A good quiet night's sleep despite being in a busy urban area. Glad that I noticed no evidence of the local bin strike during my stay.

A few minor things could be improved if they don't bump up the price of a basically very good value, no frills stopover: shower gel dispenser, kettle and teabags,TV that connects to live channels and not just BBC iPlayer etc.
