HPM Pjazza Merkanti was really conveniently located in Valletta - lots of food options, easy walk to ferries for both Sliema and three cities and busses.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was really comfortable. The breakfast buffet on the rooftop was also great and offered both Maltese options and continental breakfast. Great view too!
Also really appreciated the complimentary mini bar.
There were some other guests who were incredibly noisy and you could hear them through the wall or echoing through the centre

Hotel is perfectly located, on the side of Valletta Food Market, 50 meters from Merchant Street. All major Valletta attractions are within walking distance. Street open to traffic (taxis) is 100 meters from the entrance, Valletta bus terminal is around 10-minues walk. Rooms are clean and well equipped. Breakfast on rooftop terrace is amazing. Both the views, and the selection of Maltese dishes. But what really excells in this hotel is its staff. Very professional, caring, and efficient. Every single person excells in their jobs. Such high level is rarely seen even in much more luxurious hotels.
We visited the hotel in February and bathroom was very chilly. There was a very nice small balcony accessible from the bathroom, but balcony door had quite big gap to the floor. The wind and cool air could easily get in. We "insulated" it with a rolled blanket and then it was quite fine. This kind of construction is typical in many places in Southern Europe, where low temperatures are rarely seen. In the summer this will be completely irrelevant.

Location was very good
The breakfast area on the rooftop was very small and not available on a bad weather.
Reception only from 7:00 to 19:00.

The location of the hotel is very good - 5 minutes walk from everyrhing
The bed was pretty comfortable
The room is very small
The bathroom had no heating and it was very chilly, considering we were there in March
The breakfast was very poor and the dishes and cutlery seemed dirty. In case it is windy and raining you need to have breakfast in your room, but you have to eat in bed as there is no sufficient space to eat there
We are not sure if the housekeeping actually happened as nothing was cleaned in the room even though we asked for the room to be cleaned
The TV was not working
