Welcome to Blowing Rock Retreat!
Blowing Rock Retreat is a spacious home in Blowing Rock with incredible mountain views. Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is also 2 miles away, with hiking opportunities, beautiful overlooks, waterfalls to explore, and more. Vx3 trail rides are the perfect way to see Bass Lake and the Moses Cone Manor by horse, and this is within 4 miles of Blowing Rock Retreat. The town of Blowing Rock is 5 miles away and has delicious restaurants, many exciting weekend events, and convenient grocery stores and gas stations. Appalachian Ski Mountain is 8 miles away and is a local favorite for winter activities like skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating.
Breath-taking High Country views are available from all three levels of covered porches at Blowing Rock Retreat. There is ample outdoor seating and a gas grill for a summer cookout. The fire pit is surrounded by rocking chairs, ready for a bonfire and s'mores.
With vaulted ceilings, warm wood accents, and a wall of windows looking out over the Blue Ridge Mountains, this beautiful home is the perfect combination of rustic charm and modern updates. The gas fireplace and HDTV center the living room, with plenty of cozy leather seating. The well-equipped kitchen has been updated with stainless steel appliances, and opens to the dining room, with seating for eight.
The king master bedroom is on the main level and a flat-screen TV and private bathroom. There is an additional half bathroom for the main level. Upstairs, there is a queen bedroom that has a private balcony with a porch swing that overlooks the sweeping, mountain views. A second queen bedroom is also located upstairs. Both queen rooms have a private full bathroom.
Downstairs, the entertainment room is sure to provide lots of family fun! There is a pool table for a game of billiards, along with a huge projector screen theater area. Comfy seating converts in a pullout couch, for an additional sleeping area. There is also a bunk room with two twin-over-twin bunk beds and a flat-screen TV. There is a shared full bathroom for the lower level.
There are 2 exterior security cameras in use at this property. Both cameras point away from the house; one faces the driveway/front steps and the other camera faces the side stairs/lower entrance.

The house had beautiful views. Very spacious for families to have fun and not be on top of each other. I was not happy with some of the patio furniture. Some of that needed to be thrown away since it was unsafe to sit in. Cleanliness could have been better. There was little pieces of trash we think from the previous tenants. We just throw that away. Showers could have been cleaner. The showers are very dark. Could use some light weight shower curtains, plus lighter in color. But over all we truly enjoyed our stay and was very comfortable in the home. Loved the views from the top two bedrooms and both back porches.

They cabin had ampule space and everything we needed. The theater room was the icing on the cake! The Customer service was amazing!! We had one small issue that was taken care within 30 minutes of notifying them. Also my son left behind a belonging and they went above and beyond to get it back to him.

We chose this cabin for a joint spring break getaway with our two kids (6,1) and our friends and their children (7, 3 yo twins). Overall the stay was ok, but this cabin unfortunately needs some major upgrades specifically on amenities we chose this property based on them being part of the cabin experience.
We were planning to grill out the first night and had all of the food purchased, but unfortunately the grill was broken. It’s very old and only one part lit and barely. We called the property managers and they sent someone out the next day, but they were unable to fix it. The tech even said, this grill is basically done for...they need a new one. Next up, the projector downstairs, which we were hoping to use for a movie night was broken. Again someone came out and fixed it, but it’s so old the projection and quality was very poor, so it was useless. The freezer also stopped working and our cold food spoiled. Finally, the hot tub was not working properly and again someone had to come out to fix it.
I definitely feel like there is a bit of false advertising because the photos show a much more pristine cabin with great amenities, but that’s not the reality. It needs some updating and love.
The other note if you have kids, the bunk bed room is in the basement away from the other rooms, so that was not useful to us since we have little kids who were scared to sleep alone in the basement. If you have older kids/teens, then it would be a great set up,
In terms of pros, the views were gorgeous. The master bedroom upstairs has a beautiful balcony with a swing where we drank coffee in the mornings. We also enjoyed the fire pit downstairs.
The walls are very insulated, which is great for privacy and when traveling with a group. The area has a lot of great activities, skiing, hiking, family fun. We will definitely be returning to Blowing Rock.
