The hotel is in a beautiful location and the outside amenities and view are amazing. Breakfast provided is substantial with many options and even an option to order specific items from a menu. Staff were very kind and ensured that everything you needed was taken care of. The room was large, comfortable and quiet. Lastly, the main reason I booked was to enjoy a relaxing time at the spa facilities and because there was a gym to workout in. Both are on the small side but I found that I was only there with a couple other people so it was perfect.
The prices in Switzerland in general are high but I found the dinner to be even more expensive (for only okay pasta and fish) than in nearby Lugano. As mentioned, the room is very nice and modern but with that, every single light switch in the bedroom has a bright blue (or red/green) light on it. For me this is not acceptable for the level of hotel as it was bright enough for me to completely see in the dark. I was able to use a sleep mask but an option to turn these lights off would be a better solution.

Unfortunately another guest was given the same room key and he was able to open and enter our room at night. When we called the reception, no response nor apology was given, and she hung up on us!
Otherwise the staff at the restaurant were very nice.

the overall quality was really good, we enjoyed a lot the pools, the breakfast and the room
I found the extra services pretty expensive, and we were lacking few services such as snacks catering during the day, or boutique

The outside pool is idyllic - Very relaxed environment and loved the bar service with drinks and snacks

Amazing nature, located on the top of the hills surrounded by green, very private. 20 mins drive from Lugano, bus stop next door, available 1 hour.
Some standard rooms without view are very small as for this price.

Lovely Hotel and Staff
Too many Kids (14 at dinner) which did not promote a romantic environment for dinner. Great for families not so great if you want a relaxing quiet dinner

Collina d’Oro Resort is a very quiet , luxurious place with an exquisite peaceful view to Lugano lake, and a harmonious nature.
We enjoyed the palatable Mediterranean and Swiss food, and the special intercontinental breakfast with nature view.
Warm swimming pool with sparkling shiny waters nested in the heart of the surrounding mountains and hills. This is not poetry , it is the actual charm and spirit of the resort.
It is recommended for families, and nature lovers!
It is to 8 mn away from Tasis the American Summer school by car, and there is a bus transporting yo the Lugano center every 1 hour.
A small library in the hotel lobby for readers!
I personally highly recommend this place, to spend a healthy and mind restoring vacation👍
The opening hours of the garden restaurant is short, i recommend to be increased in high season. As the resort is a bit distant from the center and food areas about 18 mn by car.

It was a bit disappoint that the pool was not open on that hot weekend we were there.

Good value for money
Triable restaurant service. super slow and closed until 7pm without any food available for children. Not a 5 stars hotel maybe a country club with comfortable rooms

Everything was great apart from outdoor pool which was closed.
Pool was closed :(

Great location, stunning views, easy access (bus), spacious, comfortable
Two things were disappointing. Despite being promoted as open June-September, the outdoor swimming pool was closed. On both of our two nights the restaurant was closed for a private party. We had been told in advance about the first night, and were given complimentary drinks and snacks in very friendly manner. But we had no advance notice of the second night's closure.

quiet, great spa
the twin beds were tiny and narrow - more for children rather than adults

Beautiful spa area!
Too much light in the bedroom as each light switch had a little red, blue or green indicator light....very christmassy but not great for those who like to sleep in the dark.

A beautiful experience, end-to-end. We particularly enjoyed the indoor pool & sauna area. The restaurant serves excellent food. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. Can't wait to visit in the summer and enjoy the outdoor pool/facilities as well. Also, delightful walking paths starting right at the hotel. Don't miss the local Grottos!
Missing a vegetarian option on the Friday evening restaurant dinner menu (but room service was wonderful). My husband's massage was a little below expectations. As a thought - it would have been lovely to return from our daytrips to a simple afternoon cake/sweet in the common area.

Staff were amazing. We had a rough time earlier that day with some other accommodation and they took us last minute late at night and upgraded our room so we could cook some food we had and be comfortable. Can't tell you how much this was appreciated by us after a long day. Breakfast in the morning was very good and again the staff were so helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Location was superb nestled amongst hills and endless green. Pool area was excellent, large and with a great outlook.
Room had no view which was a shame given location of resort.

Location and the style are nice but that is it. Late check-out was allowed (till 1 PM).
The room has a kettle but with the water leak - be prepared to see the water under the kettle and around it after you boil the water. The TV remote was not working - thу battery in it was green (leaked). The light switches next to the bed are not working - no way to switch off all the lights, no way to switch off the left reading lamp next to the bed. The bathroom has issues with water draining - once you open the tap the water quickly fills the basin and the drain cover pops out of its place together with some plastic peace. Now about the breakfast - very limited variety of food; spoiled (sour) ham; burned bacon; too runny scrambled egg; broken toaster (but they will make it for you when asked); Lipton tea bags (really? 5-star hotel?!).
