Did not take breakfast, but those little sleeping nooks are the best - I will do that again next time I am in Aarhus! Location is also unbeatable, right around the corner from Mundhaeld ;) They have a stylish bar with good beer and coffee, a little pool table, and full size shuffle board.

I liked the location and the cleanliness of the bathrooms.
Unfortunately, it is very overpriced for what it offers.
You need to pay 70dkk just to rent a towel and bed linen and you still have to put them on yourself. I find that kind of gross, because you never know if someone brings their own sheets from home and they’re not clean. My bed also had a strange smell.
To leave your luggage in the storage room you also need to pay 30dkk.
It’s also very bad that there is no kitchen.
In much cheaper hostels they offer tea and coffee (for this price, they definitely could provide that).
The structure of the hostel also makes it 0% social. It feels more like a hotel the lobby.
Overall, it’s very very overpriced.

The lounge was exceptional and staff were very friendly. There is locker in rooms and everything is very clean and spotless. It exceeded my expectations for the price paid.

I wished if they had microwave and mini fridge.

Do not book the main pods: It's hundreds, and there is no airflow at all in that part of the building. While still not great with cleanliness, the regular pod rooms (of 6 beds each) was tolerable for a night or two, especially once I got the cleaning crew to exchange the (dirty) bedsheets (took hours/asking many times though). Redeeming issue here is that everything is fairly new, so it's in good condition still. All around a bummer and I wouldn't return.
Cleanliness/a thorough cleaning team is definitely lacking. Didn't see room cleaned between leaving for several days and coming back for a final night. Bathrooms are absolutely tiny, so its uncomfortable even with just 6 people in a room: not even a floor towel is provided, so everything is tiny and wet. Everything is nickle and dimed - I've never been to a hostel that charges *for locker access!*, this is during the stay itself not for an extra few hours after you exit your room or if you arrive early.

I initially booked a 10-people mixed room. After the first night I switched to a private room. I liked the private room, the beds were super comfortable. Everything was clean. I believe if I had taken an all-female room I would have stayed there for the three nights and not switch. The location is amazing, in the heart of Aarhus, 5 min walk from ARoS. They also offer a eide range of social activities and even football screenings and live music.
I was just unlucky and in my mixed room there were mostly (i only saw) men. I am not uncomfortable with that itself, but lets just say they are not as mindful when it comes to sharing a living space, and they tend to be a lot louder. I struggled to sleep even with headphones. Also, the fact that there is one bathroom in the room for 10 people makes it hard, specially bc the toilet and shower areas are not separated. I often had to use the big bathrooms on the second floor.

I slept in a Dream Box and it was quite cozy! It felt like being a cat sleeping in a box. The ventilation fan was a bit noisy relative to the amount of air it seemed to move (which didn't seem like much) and the ladder was a bit awkward to climb into the higher box, but honestly these are things I kind of expect. The other guests were quiet and respectful and the place felt clean and well looked after. Nice decor. Staff were helpful. I would stay there again.
The lights in the bathrooms/showers are on timers and the timer is surprisingly short - I wasn't in there an excessively long time, but when I was the only person there the shower room went completely dark which was, as you can imagine, not a great situation mid-shower. It would be great if they adjusted the timers to stay on longer, or just installed a manual timer or switch.

Great place to stay, well located and above all it is a very nice place to stay, the bar, the common areas, the staff, really amazing!
If I have to say something, the 4 beds room would be better with a window.

The prices of renting their games was ridicolous?
140 DKK for an hour of shuffle board? 100 DKK for an hour of table tennis? Insane

Everything was clean and fresh. Good value for the low price. Felt private even though it was a big room. Helpful and friendly staff. Good location.

after you paid the full price displayed, you'll receive an email saying there's extra costs. It's apparently the "bedsheets rental" because bedding is not included in the price. Ridiculous. It's mandatory, and it's not a "one time tax" you pay, but a daily fee. If you're wondering: NO, they don't change the sheets daily. Breakfast overpriced, no soap or mats in the bathrooms.

Brand new, stylist, excellent location.
So brand new that it was still being built when we stayed (I’m not sure we were aware this would be the case when we booked). Rooms well done, but very cramped. Noisy - music playing in communal areas until midnight, then again from 0700, clearly heard in the room. No water fountain to refill bottles, no kitchen facility.

Location was good. Breakfast food was the same everyday but good.
A bit disappointed with my stay of 5 nights. Our private 4 bed room was bare bones. The toilet and sink area is super tight and hard to enter the tiny room because the door opens inwards. For a hostel that hasn't opened officially yet, the facilities already look worn. Our door was chipped and the drains were super slow draining, especially the shower drain. Since our room was garden level, we had ants coming in through the window. No ventilation because our window faced the street and no safety or locking mechanism to prevent anyone from just entering our open window. The lobby/breakfast area was nice. No coffee included in the 70DKK breakfast- no clue why... and also we could not eat our own food in the lobby and since there is no other communal sitting area, we were forced to eat outside (where there are no tables)!!! The employee was nice about it but what a strange policy and setup. No communal or private fridge or microwave or kettle anywhere.

Very comfortable bed, incredibly friendly staff (Jennifer was delightful), and just a super fun place to be. They have lots of activities like happy hours, dance classes, and the sound isolation is so good that you hear absolutely nothing from the accommodations' quarters. Location is particularly excellent too, close to the Aros museum, Mollestien street and many restaurant options.
Nothing. Great all around. Didn't even feel like a budget option for a night.

I really love the placement, so central of Aarhus. The comfortable beds and I really love the curtains by the beds that makes it comfortable to sleep in private. Very cooperative staff. Booked in last minute, arrived late but they made it all easy to reach the bed despite the difficult and late travel to reach Aarhus.
There were couple of us that had nightmares that night. Someone screamed: “Help me!” Just right after I woke up from my own nightmare. Creeped me out a bit.

- Super friendly staff.
- Spot on location for exploring the city.
- It looks like a place visited by people that live in Aarhus.
- Everything looked quite clean to me, including linen, towel, and bathroom. And you get linen and towel, which you don't get in Danhostel.
- The locker system is cool because it opens with the keycard.
- You have a standard EU AC plug on your bunk bed and a USB (this last one is good for a phone but might not be enough for a tablet).
- They were partying with a DJ in the lobby because it was Friday, but the music didn't get to my room.
I was in a bunk bed on the lobby level (200s room). One major thing that I would change immediately is the programming on the lights. There where a few problems:
- One of the lights was always on and couldn't be switched off.
- The other lights were controlled by motion sensors which was terrible. I tried to reposition the curtain because the light from the always-on light was bleeding and I ended up activating the sensor.
- Lockers and bathroom were in the same room so guests were activating the lights quite frequently.
My recommendation for a quick fix would be that, if you wish to keep the configuration as it is, at least dim the lights during the night. With much less brightness you can get to your bed easily and you would save some energy as a bonus. Also curtains are not the worst I have seen, but there is room for improvement, especially with such bright lights. Going further I would prefer to have a sleeping-only area and a separate room for lockers/bathrooms. But this might be only a personal preference and more difficult to modify.
Apart from the lighting, there is a second minor issue, which I was aware of before coming, so I accepted going there regardless. But please be aware that there are no common areas for the people staying. For example there is not a simple microwave or kettle where you can heat your stuff,, because actually your food beverages are not welcomed. The place is focused on the bar/minigolf business. That being said I was sitting out there drinking my water and working and nobody told me anything, so you can still be around, but not consume anything that is not sold by them.
This means if you are looking for a traditional hostel where you can share time and cook with other travelers, this is not your place unfortunately.

Nice place. The pods were really about like being in a huge dorm, but the bed was extra large, there was a full privacy curtain, and it was quiet. So, it worked well.
8.0 / 10.0
The bed was a great size (two people could probably sleep in a single pod very comfortably). The curtain provides a good level of privacy. You can sit up in the bed comfortably.
The location is great. I walked to everything in this hostel.
You get a discount to Aros museum by staying in that hostel too.
Staff were so helpful!!! Especially the guy with the beard! (Sorry don't know his name) The staff know the city very well.
Towel is provided which is great!!
The shower situation. The bathroom facilities are sparse. The worst part is that only 1 of the female showers had a curtain! This wasn't an issue for me as other people weren't in the bathroom at that hour. I didn't see any other people needing to use the other showers without a curtain. To improve, the hostel should install something for some level of privacy.
Not very social. People were speaking in other languages and it wasn't set up to meet people easily.

Ah, I love this hostel. I stayed here about a year ago and really liked it, and now they've improved it even more. They've added some privacy barriers to the open showers, finished renovating the common area, and even installed a mini-golf course of all things. The hostel is in a great location and very popular with locals, just an all-around great spot to be. The beds are huge and comfy as ever, and everything is just so clean and comfortable.
The laundry machines are very finicky, you have to connect to them with an app that just doesn't work with the hostels' wifi, thankfully the staff were able to assist me by sharing a Hotspot as I don't have roaming data.

It was not very cosy / felt quite utilitarian
