PALMERAS 80 MENYBER

Great location to access Nerja Town. Perfect size apartment for 2 people with good facilities for self catering. Excellent on site pool, very relaxing area with great views over the sea as well as the Balcon area. On the whole the apartment was very good but just a couple of things let it down.

There was no window or extractor fan in the shower room / toilet. There were no chairs provided by the owner to take down to the pool area. I have stayed at another apartment in this building and chairs were provided. Others we spoke to around the pool all said their apartment had come with pool chairs. I went out and bought a chair for the pool so my wife would be comfortable and I used one of the folding chairs from the balcony area of the apartment. We have left the chair we purchased at the apartment for the next guests to use. The bed pillows were extremely hard and uncomfortable. There were only two bed pillows for the bed so I ended up using cushions from the sofa. A couple of softer pillows in the bedroom would at least provide options for guest comfort. DANGEROUS The sliding door that leads to the small balcony area is a concern. This door when closed is locked and cannot be opened from the balcony side. So if you were to shut this door when on the balcony please ensure you have your phone and the apartment keys with you otherwise you could be stuck outside for hours. You would need your phone to call for help to get back in the apartment or you would need the keys to throw to someone on ground level so they could access the building, unlock your front door and then open the patio door ! This problem could be resolved by fitting a lock system that would only allow the door to be locked from the inside .

I’ve been staying at Las Palmeras for 20 years as always - Great location, nice outdoor space, beautiful pool, good kitchen and equipment, nice to have a washing machine.

I wouldn’t pick this particular property again. The air con units inside are full of mould so we didn’t want to turn them on - could literally see the black inside them. The air con unit outside leaked continuously making half the balcony unusable. Despite asking for more towels the day after we arrived, they didn’t arrive for another 4 days. There are no basic cleaning supplies (washing up liquid, hand soap etc - these must be being bought by guests each time and yet they aren’t left for the next people). And lastly, the bed was SO uncomfortable. We actually ended up sleeping on the sofa bed which was marginally better, but honestly I wouldn’t return.
