Hotel Argentum by Bergkristall

The Hotel is situated in a quiet little village in the valley. I stayed here many times in the distant past and I am disappointed with what they have done to the place. The Old buildings have been virtually abandoned by the owners is now used as staff quarters. The accommodation is not completely in the new building and although it is in character with the original part it felt much h less homely. The facilities are very good. Large comfortable rooms and well appointed and very clean. Our room also had a balcony with a nice view of the mountains at the nack and back along the road leadin up to the hotel from Colle Isarco and Vipiteno. The hotel has a wellbeing Spa and jacuzzi and also a ski room beneath the main building and a lovely dining room. We arrived in the evening to find that there was no member of staff on site at all, just keys left on the reception counter. Breakfast was served in the dining room from 7.30 am until 10am there were scram led eggs and sausages (local) also you can boil eggs to your own taste, other than that ther were the ingredients of a typical Continental Breakfast, fresh bread rolls and croissants, ham, cheese, jam, yoghurts, cereals etc, and a toaster, juicer, and coffeemaker for you to use. This is a good class hotel in a good setting but oh what a waste of resources. The spa and the bar were not open and there was never any staff on duty. The receptionist was only on site until 12pm and doubled as the waitress at breakfast time and there was a very conscientious cleaner but that was it. The huge kitchen was never put to use, and the bar remained closed. I recognise that this was a holiday period around Christmas but what a wasted opportunity! They now have just 15 rooms whereas the now disused part had around 24 and comfortably accommodated parties of up to 50 guests and had a working kitchen capable of producing evening meals for them.

No staff other than a receptionist/waitress/ General housekeeper who finishes at lunchtime, and a hardworking cleaner.

Comfortable self check-in, spacious room, very clean and modern, very calm area and great breakfast - we only stayed for a night on the way back home but we would come back for a getaway hiking vacation!!

The spa area was a nice add-on but not very comfortable - could do some more decorating or renovation

Beautiful area and super friendly receptionist. I forgot some items in the room and they went above and beyond to return them to me, thank you. Good breakfast and excellent value for money.

We liked everything

We loved our stay here. The room was so spacious, the bathroom and balcony as well. The view and setting is amazing. Ilona at the front desk was super friendly, helpful and hospitable. We will definitely visit again.

Unfortunately nothing.

To begin on arrival after a long day travelling we had to wait over 10 minutes at the desk, before we were seen to. No one to greet, no where to sit, no offer of a coffee. Our room was ok. No facilities to make a drink etc. Many different signs up warning customers not to leave waste behind ( extra charge) not to use towels for makeup etc.(extra charge ) and so on. We had a room with a balcony but we're unable to use it, or open our windows as the smoking area was directly beneath our balcony. Breakfast was basic, and unfortunately had to pay extra at the bar for a morning espresso. Also no WiFi and able to hear other guests from the hotel while trying to sleep.
