Che Lagarto Paraty is a great hostel choice in Paraty!

very convenient for exploring the town. The atmosphere is social and friendly, making it easy to meet other travelers, while the common areas are very beautiful and well maintained — perfect for relaxing during the day or hanging out in the evening. Breakfast is nice and well organized, and the staff are attentive, helpful, and always available when you need something. Overall, a really enjoyable stay with great vibes and a welcoming environment. I would definitely recommend it.

As a small suggestion, a bit more care and improvement in the toilets would make the overall experience even better.

Good enough for 1 night stay

Good location close to the bus station and the city center. Nice patio and pool. Good value for the price you pay

Rooms not very well equipped in terms of sockets, lighting… Also I don’t like they make you wear a hotel bracelet like in the all included hotels during your whole stay, they are uncomfortable and I think it’s only for free publicity for the hotel

Disappointing experience…

Very good location, just about 2 minutes from historical centre, nice social area and very kind staff.

The dorm was really disappointing — very outdated, noisy bunk beds, a bad smell in the room, no fresh air, and a loud AC that made it impossible to sleep.

Awesome hostel in a convenient location

The staff were really friendly and helpful. They helped us to organise local tours. The room was clean and functional and the breakfast was varied and filling. Great place to stay. Very sociable and a brilliant location just outside the pedestrian zone

The lamp didn't work in my room, but I forgot to mention it. I'm sure they would have changed it if I'd asked.

Great location and good vibe at the hostel

I had such a great stay at the hostel! The location is awesome — just five minutes from downtown. The staff was super friendly and helpful, the breakfast was great, and I made some amazing friends while I was there!

A lovely social hostel where you for sure will make lovely new friendships and have nice tours!

The location was lovely. It was close to the beach and the old town, and also the busstation. I needed to wash some laundry, and the laundryplace was very close, and they offered to bring the clean laundry to the reception of Che Lagarto. Also superspecial thanks to the staff. The were incredibly friendly and helpful. I had an accident; I left my belowed sleepingmask, which I had had since i was 11 years old, at the hostel. I was so sad to lose it. But when I texted the hostel, they told me they had found it and I told them that i desperately would want it back. A few days later, as I was getting back to So Paolo to leave back to home, my bus stopped at the Paraty busstation, and a friend of a staffmember of the hostel was waiting for me at the busstation, and gave me my mask. The communication happenedf through the person working at the hotel, and the friendliness and the good communication was so touching to me <3

Friendly atmosphere, cosy and clean place.

We took a private room with two separate beds. It was noisy during the night due to the ventilation system.

Really pleasant stay at a cool properly with lovely communal area and nice breakfast!

I loved the communal area: pool table, nice seating and hammocks and even a small pool! Nice artwork on the walk and just a really cool ambience. Really great music player all day over the speakers also created a lovely atmosphere. Met some great people staying here. Comfortable beds!

One combined shower/ bathroom/toilet for around 10 girls meant there was often a queue for a shower or to use the toilet in the morning/evenings. It would be great if there was a separate toilet/shower to save having to go downstairs to use the loo at busy times.

This was one of the cleanest and nicest hostels I've ever stayed in! Rooms are high quality, safe, quiet, and comfortable. The common spaces are great and the breakfast was delicious. Excellent location -- 5 minutes walking to the historic center, 5 minutes walking to the bus station.

we really enjoyed our stay here! The staff were so friendly and accommodating, they helped us with tours and also helped us order food in when the weather was terrible. it’s super clean and the breakfast spread is good! An easy choice to make when staying in Paraty!

Great spot, great atmosphere.

I was shocked out how big this place is. Nice and spacious, comfortable beds, nice common areas, I was very happy with it. I was a little cold at night so asked for another blanket and it was perfect. The staff was very friendly and the hostel was located so close to everything I walked everywhere. I very much enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to anyone.

It would be great if the kitchen was bigger and had more dishes for cooking/eating, but otherwise everything was lovely.
