Exceptional Hospitality and Traditional Charm in Central Ubud – Hokky Accommodation

We recently completed a 10-day stay (Nov 24 – Dec 4) at Hokky Accommodation and were thoroughly impressed by the quality of service and the serene atmosphere. The property operates within a traditional family compound, featuring beautiful family temples that provide a sense of cultural authenticity and high security. Room & Amenities: Our private villa was split into two levels, featuring a comfortable living area on the ground floor and a bright, sun-lit master bedroom with a balcony on the upper floor. The room was equipped with a premium king-size bed and a large-screen TV (please refer to my photos for details). Waking up to the sound of birds and the view of the lush tropical garden was a highlight. Note that the bathroom is somewhat compact, though it remains functional and clean. Dining Experience: The breakfasts prepared by Agung are truly standout. Each meal is crafted with artistic precision and a wide variety of fresh ingredients. It is easily one of the best breakfast experiences we’ve had in Bali. Management & Service: Under the management of Mrs. Etik, the level of hospitality is outstanding. Her proactive approach—checking in every evening for breakfast orders and personalizing the guest experience—is commendable. Any minor issues were addressed with immediate attention and genuine care. A sincere thank you to Mrs. Etik, Agung, and the entire hardworking team for their dedication. Location & Accessibility: The location strikes a perfect balance between tranquility and central access. Major attractions like Ubud Palace, the Monkey Forest, and popular yoga studios are within walking distance. For dining, Putu's Wild Ginger (located just 100m away) offers high-quality local cuisine at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended for those seeking an authentic, peaceful, and professionally managed stay in Ubud.

We didn't have any major complaints, but if we had to suggest one improvement, the bathroom could benefit from a more modern renovation.

Experience the simplicity of Balinese Life in a family compound.

Our first trip to Bali, we were immediately welcomed into this family compound. Walking by the brightly adorned temple for the first time (days before Galangan) is an image seared into my memory. The two level apartment sits within the compound, so we shared the rituals and rhythms of daily life, during this most auspicious time. Spacious bedroom upstairs has an AC unit, comfy bed, balcony with views of weathered temples and ornate rooflines. Bathroom with handheld shower over bathtub is simple yet efficient. Dining area down stairs has a fan, the decorative front door a “wow” moment every time I caught a glimpse of it. A generous 25 gal container of drinking water with dispensing pump as well as electric mosquito repellent device was provided. We made good use of the large umbrella on many afternoon excursions. Etik and her staff are so dedicated to ensure ( as best that they can) that each guest is satisfied. Breakfast was delicious and tailored to our dietary needs. Daily housekeeping available. Centrally located. This has been a priceless experience, that we hope to repeat in the not too distant future. There is a newer unit available on the property annex, with more privacy, a pool and an outdoor kitchen.

Fabulous Stay!

Fabulous stay at Hokky Accommodation. Eti and team looked after us, providing a lovely breakfast each day (banana pancakes were delicious) and taking care of the villa. The beds are extremely comfortable and the pool with a great jungle view and lots of butterflies made our stay really enjoyable. The villa itself is about 10 mins from central ubud but there is a main street with mini marts and some restaurants only a 5 minute walk away. We had no issue being picked up directly from the villa for a day trip to the rice fields, waterfalls etc. Overall a relaxing and peaceful stay, would highly reccomend!

Excellent 2 bedroom villa with extremely great hosts who made sure our stay was exceptional.

2 bedroom villa was wonderful, with area for eating together and nice privacy. Great location. Rooms very clean and refreshed daily. Very nice breakfast. Best part was host, who was extremely helpful with all of our questions and many requests!! Would definitely recommend to others.

Amazing stay!

Everything in this place is simply perfect! Big, comfortable and very clean house, super nice and attentive host. We felt so lucky to have the opportunity to stay here, they made us feeling as part of their family. With my daughter, they where amazing, explaining everything about their culture with kindness.most amazing people ever! Great spot

This is such a lovely spot on a quiet road away from the traffic but still very central. The staff were brilliant and helpful and the breakfast included was great! I stayed here with my mum and it was so spacious. Amazing value for money, highly recommend!

Great Location, Very Comfortable, Friendly Staff

We booked the villas with a small swimming pool for a few nights, and really enjoyed our stay here. The location was perfect for us, it was close to everything we wanted to do --- but it also was off a quieter street which made the villa feel removed from everything. The villas and beds were clean, the property is clearly well maintained, and the aesthetic was incredibly calming/relaxing. However, one of the best parts about all of this was the service and staff. They were incredibly attentive, flexible, and professional.

Lovely place, perfect location, amazing value

Truly everything - the apartment itself is beautiful, with the such a peaceful, beautiful view on the balcony, in a lovely complex, excellent facilities, a very comfy bed, and the nicest people running everything! And the location could not have been better. Just within our own quiet(er) neighborhood we were in walking distance to several great restaurants, moto rentals, massage, laundry, etc, and all while avoiding the true cluster that is central Ubud. When we did want to venture into the cluster, it was easy and fast to grab a Grab. We loved coming back to this place as our home base after navigating hectic Bali adventures, and feel lucky to have found it!

We would have loved to be able to take a standing, hands-free shower lol but a very minor complaint & didn’t affect our stay. 🙂

Really cool stay with a family

Family run Villa - very warm service, the people are very happy and they share the happiness with you. The Villa is really well located, close to everything you want to do in Ubud. The facilities are really good - the swimming pool with view over the jungle is amazing. The hosts amazed us with different towel figures every morning, which we really enjoyed. The breakfast was very good.

We stayed in the two bedroom Villa with the private pool and it was absolutely stunning. It’s very large and private with an outdoor kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. Amazing views, the jungle from the pool. The staff and the family that runs the place are absolutely awesome.

I stayed at this room with my partner, the room was very spacious and comfortable. The place was good value for money, the family are absolutely lovely. Our room had breakfast included, which was served at times that suited us esch morning that was very tasty!

We love our stay so much, beautiful villa, delicious breakfast, wonderful host, perfect location.

The villa is newly built and we are lucky to be the first client to stay in this beautiful villa. Everything is perfect, sparkling clean and new, well designed, and it is located next to a river so there is a jungle view from the villa’s private pool. We feel like we are out of ubud, but it is just 5 mins walk through a road with shops, restaurant and massage shop to the main street of ubud center, about 15min walk to the palace. The villa is inside the traditional house of the owner Etik and her family who are wonderful people that makes us feel so welcomed, our room was cleaned everyday, she and her staff has prepared delicious and very generous breakfast to us the time that we want every morning at the dining area of the villa. My family and I enjoy our stay so much that we don’t want to leave and would strongly recommend this villa! Thank you so much for your host Etik! Will definitely stay here again if we come back.

Everything was absolutely perfect! We recently spent time in this lovely apartment, and the experience was nothing short of excellent. Upon arrival, we were greeted by incredible cleanliness—the apartment is bright, sunny and spacious, creating an immediate sense of comfort. Every day, someone came to clean, which added tremendous value to our stay; the apartment always felt fresh and tidy. The balcony was a true paradise for enjoying breakfast—absolutely phenomenal breakfast that the host made every day- Fresh fruit, pancakes, fresh juices, eggs with bacon, bread and butter with some pineapple jam. I can’t express enough how kind and heartwarming Edit and her husband were during our stay. They were always there to help, and anything we needed was provided instantly. Their warmth and friendliness made our experience truly special.They even went out of their way to wash our clothes twice, which was such a thoughtful gesture. It’s these little acts of kindness that made us feel right at home. We couldn’t have asked for better hosts! We highly recommend this apartment to anyone seeking comfort, cleanliness, and a pleasant atmosphere. We can’t wait to return!

Loving and caring homestay

I really wanted this holidays to be close to the local vibe and this Homestay felt like a warm bath. The homestay is runned by Etik and the family. Every day I received a text what I wanted for breakfast followed by some greetings of Etik’s kids and parents in law. The house was a lot bigger than I expected, it was a two floor with good air conditioning and new furniture. I would definately go here again and actually it felt bad to leave this place.. 🙁 We will meet again!

We had an incredible stay at HOKYY Accommodation. Etik and her family are absolutely amazing; they made us feel incredibly welcome throughout our entire stay. The place is beautifully maintained, and you can see the care and attention put into every corner. The balcony in our room was a peaceful sanctuary; enjoying breakfast there was a highlight of our Bali trip. Breakfast was always a delight. Etik paid close attention to our preferences. The pancakes were delicious, and the fresh juices and fruits were a perfect way to start the day. Not only is it a great place to stay, but the location is super convenient. It's within walking distance to various tourist spots and very close to Ubud's main street, where you can find lots of shops and excellent restaurants. We highly recommend this place to other travelers, especially those looking for a more local experience and to meet fantastic people in Bali.

The place was great, I mean you really can't expect a more lavish stay at the price point the host/owner offered us on Booking.com, it was all comfy, clean, the breakfast was great both vegetarian & non vegetarian, none of us was vegan so didn't ask for it but I am sure given the lovely host (Etik) that we had would definitely arrange it if you ask for one. Overall a highly recommended stay at Ubud, Bali if you are looking for one around the Central Area. Cheers,

An oasis of gentle hospitality and Balinese tradition in the middle of Ubud

Hokkyy is a wonderful find, a 2 storey apartment with Japanese bonsai garden, downstairs lounge, huge bedroom with balcony and a stone bath in the middle of a family compound. Etik your hostess, and her beautiful family are delightful. Fresh juice and breakfast delivered every morning . The place is modern and immaculately clean and a short stroll into the chaos of central ubud. Listening to the chortles of little children, guitars playing , watching the resident artist paint a traditional canvas using bamboo, Ibu grass weaving. All treasured memories of my stay! Next door is a lovely little warung, Lemongrass which delivers fresh Juice and Jamu and serves beautiful fresh simple food.

Great place to experience Balinese culture

I stayed with my wife for 13 days. Etik and her family are very welcoming and you really don't feel like staying at a hotel. We are really thankful for the possibility to participate in local traditions (ceremonies) and sharing time together. As for the apartment, it's a separate small house with a room on the ground floor and a bathroom and bedroom on the top floor. We enjoyed the balcony (and view on volcanos), spacious room, nice garden, calm area (not too many motorcycles in the street). It is a perfect mix of having privacy but also being able to socialize with locals whenever you want.

Well, the 10/10 rating says it all, but there are some very minor things you should take into account. The stairs to the bedroom are quite steep (not good for elderly), there are some bird and gecko noises etc (like everywhere in Ubud) and the A/C is a bit loud at night, so you may need airplugs. Also the bathtub cannot be filled with hot water as the boiler is too small (showering is ok). The rest is just great, would have stayed longer.

Spacious unit, great host, delicious breakfast

The accommodation is within family compound and is very spacious - you have the whole building for yourself (with living area on the ground floor and sleeping area and bathroom on the first floor). Breakfast was excellent! Etik was great with every request (e:g., she brought me hot water kettle and water jug so I didn’t have to use small water bottles). Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Great location, at walking distance (5 min) from Ubud city center, where you have lot of places to eat and see all atractions available in Ubud, just by walking. You have entire house just for urself, with a living area downstairs and a big bedroom and bathroom upstairs. And Etik will help you with everything you need. She is very, very nice and kind. Amazing people, great accommodation

Loved everything about my stay here. From the extremely warm welcome (accommodating my late arrival), to the attentiveness while I was there with the owners. It was extremely clean and they think of all the little things. The WiFi was good (not great), and I was able to hold a web meeting, which is required for my nomad work. The balcony was great, the breakfasts amazing and the location was ideal. Tucked away but only a 5 minute walk to the Main Street of Ubud (which is very noisy so it’s important to stay at a place like this for some quiet).

The bathroom was a little tight, but not a major issue.

Perfect accommodation in Bali

This house and the owner made us feel like at our home from Ubud! Etik was very responsive, kind and hospitable. The location is convenient, is close to the center and there are many restaurants by scuter, but there are also a few only 3-4 minutes walking distance. The place was very clean and spacious. Etik cleans the home and change the towels and bed each day, if that is ok for you. The breakfast was very rich: eggs or pancake + fruit salad + fresh juice + water. She also asked if we want bacon or chicken sausages. We stayed here for 2 weeks, after visiting north Bali and come again here for 3 weeks because we enjoyed our stay here. Internet/Wi-fi had good speed and we could work from there. I recommend this accommodation! Good value for the money.

Wonderful Welcoming Experience in Ubud

Etik's place is a wonderful home located in a residential area in Ubud. There are other houses are in the same area so has a feeling of a real community. The whole upper floor apartment is opposite Etik and her family home so if anything is ever needed someone is very close-by. However, no issues ever occurred, and my stay was memorable for my first experience in Bali. The place was clean, spacious, great air-con and comfortable bed. Also, you have your own long balcony is wonderful especially at the start when having breakfast. Overall Etik was a lovely mother and her family very welcoming. You will feel at home here in a place that is within easy walking distance to Ubud but have the tranquillity that most come to Bali for.
