I like the cottage. Its rustic and suits my style. The gardens are very soothing. The place has an old world charm about it. Despite being near the freeway its quiet most of the time and its an easy walk to Stirling. Yes its one flight of exterior stairs above the main house. If this is a problem book elsewere.

For a couple of hundred dollars, the owners could easily improve the kitchen facilities - a small air fryer would be a huge bonus, but also a couple of large flat plates and small flat plates. Likewise, the tiny, badly shaped hand basin in a bedroom cupboard could easily be replaced with a much more functional small round basin, while leaving the existing cupboard and plumbing in place. I didnt like discovering that the property is let via another company which involved an extra layer of interactions and when I double checked, extra costs too. Unfortuantely there was a lack of interest in this when raised with bcom

If you're looking for a very quiet location away from people and noisy traffic then this is it. A small country house which has an enclosed fireplace and plenty of heating and cooling options for any kind of weather. The surroundings were very quiet, only the occasional car went by. The garden was very pretty. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen is basic but was enough for us (toaster, microwave, and electric frying pan if you need it, no stove or oven). The bathroom was fine although it took us a while to find the cute basin (behind a narrow door).

Some improvements. Tissues please. A small pack of 10 tissues doesn't go far. We had to go buy some more. If a customer is paying a solid price for accommodation, these little comforts go a long way towards making the stay more pleasant. It kind of looks stingy. The initial wood supplied was not cut to size and did not fit in the stove. We found some downstairs that was smaller. The major gripe is that the place is handled on behalf of the owner by Unwind Holidays who are not terribly good at it. You get plastered with emails too often before, during and after the stay. Furthermore they have this policy of the bond. You pay $200 bond then have to wait two weeks to get it back. Surely it doesn't take two weeks to determine if anything was damaged or stolen, so I feel the bond should be returned sooner. I complained after a week and got mine back.
