Nice looking hotel, good breakfast

Clean hotel and a 10 min walk from the main station. Breakfast was really nice (they even provided warm oat milk for coffee which a lot of places don't offer) and the breakfast area truly has a lovely old school charm. I also liked that they have a radio point installed in the wall which was very cool.

My bedsheet was stained when I checked in so asked them to change it but was given the same bedsheet next day with the stain partly removed. Asked for a second pillow on the first evening and was informed that it could only be provided the next day. Also just having a kettle in the room will make a huge difference ( if you don't want to provide tea or coffee sachets). Lastly the phone was not working

Brillinat stay in Cologne

Super central to all the action yet very quiet in the rooms. Lots of character; the spiral staircase is amazing. Breakfast was superb with lots of healthy options. I will be there in a heart beat.

only complaint would be the mattresses are too firm! I had a difficult time sleeping. a tray with tea and instant coffee condiments/ most Hotels have options to heat water? The staff is wonderful and breakfast/ dinners are delicious 😋

Comfortable stay

Our room was ready for early check-in, which was very convenient since we arrived before the usual check-in time. The room was clean, neat, and tidy. The location is excellent—just a few minutes’ walk to public transport, and within easy walking distance to Cologne Cathedral and the central station. Overall, a very comfortable and well-located stay.

Perfect if you are just interested in going to the conference center.

I loved the location of the hotel, perfect if you are going to the conference hall, we were able to get to our stand in 15 minutes. The hotel is also close to the railway and subway/tram, so it's very convenient to move around the city. And there is a Rewe (supermarket) within 5 minutes of walking.

The hotel is overall outdated, and in my opinion, not worth the price. The bathroom was tiny, and it lacked a window or a fan, making it not really a pleasant experience. The TV is also an old model, and does not support accessing media or easily connecting with your devices. I advise against having breakfast at the hotel, since in the area there are plenty of good cafes.

Good option for a city stay

The location is good, with several means of public transportation around and a wide diversity of bars, restaurants and cafés. The decoration is sober, despite having a rather classical style. The bed was great and the room was huge.

The main elevator was not working, and the side elevator was tiny and the accesses were done through stairs, which defeated a bit the purpose of the elevator. Moreover, the elevator doesn't go all the way to the floor where our room was located. Most likely, this issue doesn't happen during normal times. Personal issue: while the place is modeled to look classic and posh, the finishing touches were missing. I was missing chocolate on the pillows, staff wearing suits, all that jazz. But that's me.

Pleasant stay, good rooms &food. Serious accessibility issues: fix the elevator/night shift problem!

Rooms were pleasant and comfortable, bathroom clean and spacious. Breakfast quality was high and tea selection excellent.

The elevator was switched off due to night shift staff going home and also in the morning even at 10am. We had 6 month pregnant woman with us. What if someone was a wheelchair user? Pillows were too thin. Wifi very poor in the bedrooms. Could do with usb/usbc charging stations in the room and more hygiene products in the bathroom eg cotton wool, conditioner etc

An excellent place for a short stay near the railway station and the historical center.

Excellent location and at the same time it was rather quiet during night (room with the backyard view). Stuff was extremely friendly.

I do not have major complaints. It would be nice if there would be a hanger for wet coats outside the closet.

A charming rustic hotel

The room is of decent size, very clean, and comfortable. The hotel has a charming, old-timey feel to it, unlike the square-ish and prison-like modern chain hotels that always feel too utilitarian. The breakfast is excellent and reasonably priced. The location is near to shops, restaurants, even a portion of the old city walls, and about 12 minute walk to the train station.

Great location (quaint bars and restaurants nearby)

I gave this hotel high scores across all categories. However I must give a bad review because of how the hotel handled a credit card problem. Below is an explanation for this: When I booked online, I provided the details of my American Express card. After my stay, I received a notification from Booking.com that my card details were incorrect, requesting that I upload the correct details (this is strange because I used the same card details for other hotels without any problem). I co-operated, and uploaded the details again, double checking that they are correct. If you upload incorrect card details on booking.com, it is not possible to save those details. The hotel then informed me, via email, that the card details are still incorrect. They accused me of cheating, and then they threatened to take legal action and hire a collections agency. In this email they also included a screenshot of my Linkedin profile. I provided my phone number when I made the booking, but the hotel never made an attempt to phone me, or message me through the app. I later phoned them and provided details of an alternative card (mastercard). This worked, and the payment went through. The hotel could've easily resolved this situation with a phonecall, but instead they decided to threaten and intimidate me.

sauna wasn’t working and also one heavy set ladie working the front desk at night with black long hair was very rude and disrespectful to guest

Small problem

Hotel was in a lovely quiet area, only 10 minutes walk from Central train station which was ideal as we got train from and to airport

We had to book out of hotel at 1.30am to catch our flight. The man at reception had no English and we couldn't speak German he was trying to charge us for the 3 nights stay but we had already paid, I showed him the receipt but because it was printed in English it caused a problem, we finally got it sorted with great difficulty

Near to the Cologne Train station: one train stop away, or a 10-minute drive, or 15-minute walk. The staff at the restaurant, Melanie, was also very warm.

House-keeping was the worst ever! Hey! I think she'll just open the door, touch the bed and vamoose! They can do better.
