This place is a great place to stay if you want something different as it is very quirky. You want peace and quiet too, this is the place. The Hayloft is very good at using the space as its not a massive barn conversion but by the name an old hayloft. It was easy to get to and easy to access main roads to get to days out. Nice size garden and enclosed so our dog was safe to be in the garden. As a farm nearby lots of space for walks with the dog. He loved seeing all the pigs, sheep, goats, horses and emu's. The farm also has a small farm shop for milk etc which is walking distance. I would recommend bringing food shop on route as nothing in village like that. The layout is very strange as living room is upstairs but the log fire is downstairs but actually this worked well as we read books by the fire and then late evening when fire out we went upstairs to watch TV. The fire warms the whole house up as its very open plan. Jo the owner was really lovely and easy to contact as she gets in touch with you about a week before, even thou the booking was via Sykes Cottages on booking.com, it was actually Jo we had contact with on the break who owns the home which was great as she was so very helpful. This home was really different and we enjoyed our week even thou i have wrote some minus points its just to advise the next person as you see i gave it 5 stars as it was a lovely stay, we really enjoyed the home we had for the week, everything you needed was in the house and it was really clean, you can see Jo takes pride in this place.
Parking was a bit tight as we have a large 4x4 but luckily we only had 1 car with us as it says 2 spaces but would be 2 small cars. The booking was a bit confusing, as i was not sure if my price included the hottub as it said hottub but then when you looked into it, it said pay extra, I told Jo this and she was going to make it easier for future bookings. Also we had to pay Sykes an extra £50 for our dog but again it said 1 dog welcome and then i was sent information from Sykes saying £50 extra than what i paid via booking.com and nothing extra for the dog in the apartment when we got there so what was that payment for?!?!?. Both bathrooms are downstairs which probarly not a bad thing except when you want to go in the middle of the night and you wake up everyone as floor and staircase creaks (know this part of quirkyness).

Lovely accommodation, smaller than expected but we’ll equipped and comfortable Good communication with host
Not clear on booking.com that the hot tub requires extra payment to use Accommodation a little more remote than we thought, roads not safe enough to walk into town particularly in the dark
