This charming property has been renovated to a very high standard, super clean, tastefully decorated and fitted out with all mod cons. We particularly enjoyed sitting in the back garden listening to the dawn chorus.

Understandably for a house of this age, the headroom in some of the doorways is low and yes, there were "Mind your head" notices - the provision of a rubber bumper above the doorways might help to prevent bashed heads. We found the step down into the kitchen difficult - could it be converted into a ramp? A second handrail on the other side of the staircase would be helpful for old codgers like us...

The owner was very welcoming and made us very welcome. It was very clean and everything we needed was there. Would highly recommend.

There was nothing to dislike.

Beautiful village location, well appointed property that the photos on here do no justice to. Spotless housekeeping with thought given to guests needs regarding kitchen equipment, linens, toiletries etc. The owners were very hospitable and nothing too much trouble. The private little garden was perfect and the Dales perfect for long walks. Great location for visiting Durham City, used the park and ride which was fab. Recommend Beamish Living Museum as a day out, fascinating place and we all had the best holiday ! I can’t fault Mill Cottage. Thank you so much .
