Hendy Cottage

We stayed here for one night as a group of four and had a lovely experience. The property is in an excellent location and has a beautiful vintage cottage feel, which makes the stay feel cosy and charming. The views on the way to the property are wonderful, and the sound of birds chirping around the area is incredibly soothing. Waking up to the peaceful morning view was especially calming and refreshing. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway.

We cooked fresh meals for ourselves three times during our stay. The kitchen was well equipped, with plenty of utensils and vessels available for cooking, which was very convenient. However, washing everything afterwards was a little tiring, especially after cooking multiple meals. Having a dishwasher would have made the experience even more comfortable and convenient.

Quirky, clean cottage on a beautiful green spot in the middle of almost nowhere. If you are looking for a few days to relax, this is an absolute go to. The owner and I had several contact moments on WhatsApp where I got useful information and the possibility to ask questions (that were answered very quick). All the needed facilities are present and you can feel the love that is put into the cottage. Wonderful outside areas to read a book.

Not negative, but points for attention: In several places of the cottage the ceiling is very low (also because of beams). For people above 1.75m, a helmet will come in handy. I bumped my head several times on wood and stone. The master bed downstairs can use some support, because there is a small ditch in the middle. The shower is quite low, also for probably 1.75m or shorter, which is not ideal. On the contrary, the step (wall) to get into the shower is quite high (about 60cm), maybe hard for less flexible people.

The cottage had lots of character and was warm and comfortable. It was mostly very well equipped. The wiring had been updated and there were plenty of sockets. The shower was great. Everywhere was very clean. I loved the little snug up the spiral staircase too - an escape from the football! The location was lovely also but just too far from civilisation.

It was too remote. When we first booked, the location was given as Chwilog which is about 5 miles away. Access was down miles of very narrow winding roads. I loved the cottage but would have appreciated a washing machine! The kitchen was large enough to house one. We didn't use the upstairs bedroom as my husband couldn't have managed the ladder and I think there would have been some sore heads too!
