About this apartment rental
A studio is in a nice area next to Kensington Gardens, 7 minute walk to Kensington Palace. Although it is in basement of a Georgian house, there is enough light and when it is sunny outside, it is quite bright. It was completely re-done three years ago and has all the modern facilities, including Wi-Fi, washing and drying machines, dishwasher, etc. The studio’s size is approximately 27 square meters.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a Nespresso coffee machine, cooking pans, cutlery and crockery.
A separate bathroom has a shower. It is simple and modern.
There is a Anglican church in front of the house and if you don't mind, you'll be woken up every morning by the church bells that start chiming at 8:45am and strike every 15 minutes until 10pm.
The room has a King size bed with a memory foam mattress (180x200 cm that corresponds to 6'' bed). All the bedlinen and towels are included in the price.
There are 3 underground stations around, all 5-7 minutes to walk to depending how quickly you walk. The nearest will be Bayswater, then Queensway and Notting Hill. Walking across the park, you'll find youself at the Royal Albert Hall and near Exhibition Road with 3 great museums: V&A, Science and Natural History. There is a bicycle rent stop next to my place and another one just at the entrance to the park, if you prefer to explore London by bike.

This was our third year staying in what we now call “our little basement apartment” in Bayswater!! We love staying here so much that we have booked an extended stay for 2027. The apartment is always immaculate, the bed is very comfortable and there is the added bonus of a washing machine and tumble drier. The apartment has a lovely well tended garden in front, and the road and general area are very quiet apart from the welcome tolling of the bell across the road at St Matthews during the day. Kensington Gardens is only 5 minutes walk away and both Bayswater and Queensway tube stations are close by. The stairs down to the apartment are a bit steep but we managed our luggage even though we are in our late 70’s. We have always been in close contact with our host Elena and she has always been attentive to our questions and made us feel most welcome.

We really enjoyed the location, which is set in a charming part of town with wonderful local shops, bakeries, and nearby parks. The courtyard area and the sound of the church bells added a unique and memorable touch to our stay.That said, during our visit the space felt quite stuffy, and the only way to cool it down was by opening windows that did not have screens. Additionally, the pillows on the bed felt worn and could use updating, especially considering the level of accommodations described.It’s also worth noting that the unit is in a basement and requires navigating fairly steep steps, which may not be ideal for everyone.Overall, a lovely setting with a lot of character, but a few comfort improvements would make the stay even better.

We had a lovely stay in this little studio room. The location is wonderful - close to the park, easy to walk to many spots and very close to 3 main Tube lines. The room, bath and kitchen were clean and tidy. Elena was a gracious and responsive host.

Our mattress was terrible. Each morning both of us woke up with backaches! Is the mattress 50 years old? The shower was too complicated for us to figure out. It was actually a safety concern because the hot water was so hot. My wife got burned!! So we couldn't take showers. If you insist on having a complicated shower, please have instuctions. Do not rent this unit out until these problems are fixed. I feel we were ripped off.
