About this chalet rental

Comfortable and well equipped ski chalet in the beautiful hamlet of Bas Thex, a 10 minute 6km drive from Morzine and lift access into the Portes du Soleil ski area. This lovely self catered chalet is nicely furnished and designed to cater for 8 with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a large open plan living area and kitchen. Parking space. It is located in a peaceful hamlet with access to mountain walks and to St Jean D'Aulps and Morzine. The whole of the Portes du Soleil ski region is in easy reach.
There are 3 bathrooms and 4 WC .
Balconies to the living area and also to the top 2 bedrooms have their own balcony . Lovely south facing views .
Small terrace with outdoor seating and dining table with views to valley from the dining /kitchen area.
Very well equipped kitchen , home from home for us .
Sunday changeover in February, otherwise flexible.

This is an absolutely amazing chalet! A true home from home with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The location is perfect for Morzine and Les Gets while being very quiet and out of the way for those who prefer a quieter holiday. We’ve spend our time doing loads of mountain biking and hiking and have had a truly brilliant holiday. We can’t wait to return to this Chalet.

Well laid out chalet that had everything we needed including a lovely fireplace. Bedrooms are all a decent size and plenty of bathrooms made life easy when there were few of us staying. Would recommend if anyone was looking to stay in the area.

Comfortable stay in this charming chalet in a beautiful and quiet location only 15-20 minutes drive from all the nearby lifts. Well equipped kitchen for self-catering, good showers and comfortable beds. Can highly recommend.

We had a fabulous ski holiday (with our extended family of all sizes and ages coming and going) in this lovely place. We especially liked; the amazingly comfortable beds, the classic wooden ski chalet feel, the real log fire, the short drive from Geneva airport, being able to easily access (by car & free bus) different parts of the massive Portes du Soleil ski area depending on weather and whim, the wonderful cuisine in the many mountain restaurants, the short walk to St Jean d'Aulps- a friendly village with bars and a Carrefour Express. We would definitely recommend it.

A very pretty chalet in a rustic French village. Nice spacious living area with open fire and well kitted out kitchen. All bedrooms are stylishly decorated and the beds are extremely comfortable!

Excellent chalet

Excellent chalet

This chalet combines modern conveniences and comfort with traditional charm and cosiness. The bedrooms are all of good size and we found the beds very comfortable. In addition, the kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed for a two week stay. Crucially, there was enough hot water for 5 of us to have hot showers/baths at the end of a days' skiing. A car is recommended, but the chalet is close to the main road and there's a good-sized supermarket a short drive away. The hamlet is quiet and the ideal place to get a good night's sleep after a long day on the slopes. We didn't encounter any problems when making our booking or during our stay.

Spacious and cosy

This was a fabulous chalet, very attractively presented, fresh and clean, well equipped and maintained. The bedrooms were all a very good size and the beds were comfortable. The open plan kitchen dining and seating area meant that all members of the party could join in whether preparing the meal or sipping drinks by the fire. The short drive to the slopes meant that we explored different options for skiing areas and had no trouble parking or returning to the car at the end of the day. The local supermarket was very well stocked and nearby. We would recommend this chalet, particularly for a group of adults who are looking for comfort at the end of the day's skiing or want alternatives for non skiing such as mountain hiking of biking.

Several ski areas are easily accessible by car including delightful Morzine. The chalet is a proper wooden chalet with a real log fire in a spacious living area, it is exceptionally stylish & comfortable inside. There are lovely views across the valley. We would go again!

This property is situated in the small hamlet a few minutes from the charming village of St Jean d'Aulp and about 10 minutes’ drive from Morzine. The property is beautifully laid out in a very traditional chalet style with a wonderful log fire in the lounge area and large well equipped and modern kitchen. The bedrooms are large and very comfortable and all have wonderful balcony views of the mountains across the valley. Skiing is available very nearby in the charming area accessible from the St Jean d'Aulp or a short drive will take you to the well know resorts of Morzine and the other resorts of the Haute Savoy and the Portes de Soleil. All in all a wonderful relaxing and excellent place to stay in luxurious chalet in a tranquil setting but within easy reach of major skiing resorts.

Everything from the initial booking with Vicky to the arrival went smoothly . the house is really comfortable and very well equipped. it was clean and tidy with everything to make your stay a real home from home feel. Bas Thex is a little way out of the main action , which is what we wanted yet worth mentioning if renting this chalet you may need to hire a car. Thanks Vicky for all the advise and help along the way ,

Le chalet est très sympa et dispose de toutes les commodites. Le seul petit reproche c’est le manque de lumière, les éclairages pour le soir sont tamisés. sinon la literie est confortable, il y a une ferme à moins d’un kilomètre, pour assister à la traite et acheter de bons produits laitiers. Les photos ne sont pas fidèles à l’annonce: le chalet est encore mieux en vrai! Très chaleureux, hyper bien équipé, literie agréable, plusieurs salle de bain, vraiment, rien à dire! Nous recommandons vivement, même avec des enfants en bas âge. Ce n’est pas indiqué mais il y a un lit bébé (nous avions pris le nôtre). Chalet à proximité immédiate des pistes (10 minutes de Roc d’enfer, 15 minutes des œufs pour Avoriaz). La communication avec Vicky ainsi que la personne en charge de la location sur place était très fluide. Nous reviendrons volontiers.

Très belle quinzaine en famille passée dans ce superbe chalet, accueillant et très confortable. Le village de Saint Jean d’Aulps est charmant et la vallée est riche en expériences pour les familles. Idéal pour une grande famille avec ses trois salles de bains et ses 4 WC. Propre et très bien entretenu, calme et super cosy avec des lits super confortables et 7 paires de raquettes à neige + bâtons fournis! Il y a aussi de belles ballades à pied depuis le chalet!

Chalet située dans un environnement calme, avec tout le confort nécessaire pour un séjour familial réussi : promenades à pieds, autour du chalet mais aussi autour du lac de Montriond, dans Morzine..., feu de cheminée et jeux de société en famille étaient au programme de notre séjour, les stations de ski étant fermées en raison de la pandémie.

Beaux espaces de vie, chalet bien orienté, literie et draps de qualité, bien équipé. Propre et bien entretenu. Parking facile pour 2 véhicules. Terrasse avec possibilité d'être au soleil ou a l'ombre. Superbe vue sur la vallée et les montagnes environnante. Boulangerie accessible à pied (2km) et grandes surfaces à peine plus loin. Seul petit bémol, la route principale n'est pas loin et c'est donc un petit peu bruyant. Excellente adresse. Nous la recommandons.
