Beautiful And Comfortable Apartment / Villa In Alvôr only 300 meters to center

We were very happy with this property, our first VRBO. Very spacious for our group of four. The property was clean and exactly like in the photographs. The AC was a godsend during this heat wave! We booked it based on previous reviews citing the proximity to the town center, as we did not plan to rent a car. Definitely walkable, just watch out for all those hilly streets! The only issue was the smell of sewage that consistently came from one of the bathrooms. At first, we thought it was coming from outside, but realized towards the end of the trip that it was actually the bathroom. We were close to leaving, so didn’t bother to mention it to the host.(We also saw that other reviewers have mentioned the same thing). Last of all, it was a bit disappointing to have to purchase all the cleaning supplies. The property does offer both a dishwasher and washing machine. However, it’s a bit of a waste to purchase all the detergent and dishwashing liquid, only to use a small portion. We left what we didn’t use in hopes that they would be forwarded to the next guests.Despite these minor points, we would still definitely recommend this property. Had a fabulous time in Alvor!

host was very good at communicating and very helpful. Villa was lovely and very close to Alvor walking distance five minutes brilliant location lovely apartment I would say the only downside is the pool is shared which for us wasn’t a problem as there was no one in the other apartment for the first five days but that’s fine as long as you don’t mind sharing a pool. It’s only with the other apartment so it might only be three or four people so just making people aware.

Great location, great communication, very homely.

The property is in a perfect location, v close to town centre. It is nicely decorated with lovely views. Lena, the owner who lives onsite, dealt with a couple of minor issues very quickly. However, The cleaner hadn’t cleaned the shower tray which was blocked with hair and soap scum and there was a mouldy tea towel in the washing machine. I sorted this myself as I didn’t feel it was worth troubling the owner with. The plumbing in the bathroom is of a poor standard. One of the toilets is leaking waste onto the floor leaving towels and mats smelling of urine. The traps haven’t been fitted properly so there is a constant smell of sewage. We have stayed in numerous properties in Alvor and have never experienced this before When we pointed this out we were told we were being unreasonable and were asked to leave. We were refunded the nights we didn’t use and left the next day. Hopefully this issue has been rectified as it spoilt what could have been a lovely stay.
