Amazing setting staying in an old Italian Farmstead, with our rooms and the dining room in refurbished, but original buildings. Beautiful views of the national park from every part of the property, and we enjoyed the quick hike up to the ruined monastery, just a kilometer away. We also loved the clean, rustic, tech-minimal feel of the rooms. It truly felt like staying in an antique Farmstead.

The business advertised three meals a day on-site, and the flyer in our room even mentioned that lunch and dinner were served there. While we thoroughly enjoyed the included breakfast each morning, the kitchen and dining room were not open for either lunch or dinner. The workers, who were friendly and helpful, also mentioned that the owners were not around. We had a feeling that things might be different when the owners are around, but our experience was that the property did not provide the full services advertised, including those advertised in the flyer provided in the room.

This place is a 10! It’s a 10 because it is surrounded by nature, because the rooms are beautiful and spacious, and because you can start your hike to Pollino directly from there. It’s a 10 because Mr Nicola told us the history of the place and made the experience truly memorable, showing us the maps of the whole area that he and his friend created from scratch. It’s a 10 because Lapo, their dog, took us hiking and helped the ladies down the steepest hills by offering his back… in exchange for a treat, of course! And let’s not forget the lady of the house, who makes heavenly dishes, all freshly prepared with local ingredients. Do I recommend it? Guys, I’d gladly live there!

That at some point we had to leave. :( The road to get there is a little rough, so drive slowly and take your time. That said, it feels like a fair price to pay for such a peaceful, remote place fully immersed in nature.
