Apartment Susanj

Mošćenice is a magical place, the apartment is beautiful and tastefully decorated. It was very clean. Very comfortable for the 4 of us everybody had a place to be and relax. We loved the patio in the shadow, spent a lot of time there. Sea and Opatija and other cities, beaches and hiking trails in the neighborhood. Nice cafe, restaurants and little shop with everything you need on a 5 min walk. Host was nice and prompt in communication and helped us with everything.

We liked everything! People with less mobility need to take into account that there is a fly of stairs inside to the bedrooms and 750 stairs to the sea - which we saw as a way of extra excercise 🤪 but you can also go by car or bus. Parking is just outside of the city walls so you need to walk a bit with your luggage. Was not a problem for us.

The place is amazing and is exactly beautiful as at the photos. It's a very old house with modern facilities in the heart of old town. If you want to visit a place like this and live some time there, it's a very good option. You have several options for beaches and the nearest is Sv. Ivan Beach. It's in 15 minutes by stairs, but the old town is on the mountain, so you must be prepared for almost vertical stairs. We were traveling by car, so we just used our car to go there before the heat. The beach is good and the water was transparently clear. Tu Tamo tavern is very good but it's not cheap and must be booked beforehand. In 30-40 minutes drive there is a specialty coffee roastery Hug & Punch. Also recommend to visit, but be aware they close gate, don't be shy go directly there. I highly recommend this place!

Living in old city has some downsides, you must understand it. It's not a host problem, it's a common thing. So: - Ants. Take care of you food and other belongings. Still you will find some of them. - In the summer season nights are very hot, so you will sleep with AC. But unfortunately it's above one bed and can blow on you and is noisy. It's a very old city and you have only necessities in a walking distance, like small grocery shop and a couple of restaurants/bars. For other things you have a lot nearby and bigger Rijeka in 40 minutes with malls and others. For me it's not a downside, but maybe for somebody it can be.
