Kauksi Campsite

I’ve stayed at Kauksi Telklaager several times. Beautiful spot right by the lake, genuinely peaceful. Cozy small cabins, bigger ones if you need space, plus room for tents and campers. Every cabin has its own grill spot and an outdoor table under a shelter for evenings that don’t want to end. Facilities are properly clean: showers, toilets, a shared kitchen you’d actually want to cook in. Reception has some extras, e.g. coffee, ice cream, firewood and charcoal on hand. The hosts are wonderful, they clearly care about guests and the grounds down to the lakeshore. SAP boards and other water toys available for rent. PS. One honest note: a few negative reviews mention the owner being “too strict” or “not letting people play.” Reading between the lines, that’s the crowd hoping for a loud, boozy free-for-all. With many guests sharing the grounds, the quiet-hours rule is exactly what lets everyone actually rest. Fully on the owner’s side here, thank you for protecting the peace.

Comfy beds Fireplace Nice ground

Location of the camping site is great in the middle of the woods and close to the beach. Restaurant on site was basic but good. Bathrooms were clean and good. A lot of benches next to the camping spots provided which is great.

Small cabins are really small and basic with wooden beds and thin mattresses, however sufficient if it is raining and you do not want to stay in a tent for the night. To park on site (next to the cabin or tent) you have to pay double the price you pay on the street.
