I arrived at the property and was met by Desmond, the owner, who checked me in promptly. Desmond and Eileen were very welcoming and friendly and couldnt do enough to help. The room was considerably more spacious than I expected, and I had a choice of beds. Breakfast was served promptly from 8am which made it good for planning day trips. There was a good choice for breakfast, cooked on demand and decoratively served. The bathroom was spacious and perfect for my needs. The property was just off the main street and very close to both bus stops and a good choice of restaurants and bars. There was a lounge too and secure entry room where bikes could be stored overnight. All in all, perfect for a short stay to the area, certainly if arriving by public transport.
Being a period property with street facing rooms, the blinds didnt completely black out the external light, but there were enough cushions to cover most of the windows.
Im not sure what parking facilities were available for those using their own cars, though there did appear to be street parking.
Neither of these issues changed what was a lovely stay in Clifden.

The welcome and the service. The breakfast offering.
Steep and very narrow staircase to reach your room. No black out curtains. Tiny and unpractical bathroom.
