Ecolodge Blue Morpho

The owners were really lovely and helpful in all ways. I only stayed for one night because I was traveling to Liberia to catch a flight the next morning. Michael drove me to the border at 5:30 am, arranged a taxi from the border to the airport on the Costa Rica side, and stayed in contact with me the whole time to make sure nothing went wrong. The location was really cool, nestled in the bush. I wish I had stayed there longer and I definitely will if/when I visit Nicaragua again. It was a very peaceful place to stay compared to San Juan Del Sur. Highly recommended!

Outstanding staff, truly! Kind & attentive. The food was excellent. The grounds & surrounding are beautiful. Walking distance to the lake, gorgeous. The room was excellent & very comfortable, HOT SHOWER!!!

A few hooks in the room would have been great to hang things on but really, the place is amazing! I would stay again!!!

The hosts are very friendly and the food is truly outstanding (half board available). The setting is beautiful. The location is on a cobblestone road on a thin piece of land between Lago Cocibolca Nicaragua and Costa Rica, not far from the Penas Blancas border crossing. It's a real treat to stay with owners who have developed a bed and breakfast with a long term vision of being surrounded by nature.

There was a fee to use the swimming pool

We were looking for a hotel close to the border and were very happy with our stay. After being stuck in the passport line for 3.5 hours, we arrived much later than expected, but the hotel prepared a hot meal for us when we let them know. The next morning, we enjoyed a tour of the property. We would gladly return if we are in the area again.
