Dai Long Hotel

It was nested away from the tourist areas but still a quick grab bike away from all locations

Had some remodeling going on, not walking distance from any beaches and because of the humidity bathroom was moldy and hotel had a lot of ants that come inside

The hotel and the room were spotlessly clean, and the bed was comfortable. Despite worrying about airport news when we first arrived it was not a problem at all when we were sleeping. We were presented with a breakfast menu with about 4 different choices and both of us were happy with what we chose both in amount and quality.

There seemed to be limited places to eat in the immediate area and you need to go further, although depending on the heat still within an easy walk.

The room was very beautiful, decorated in classic Chinese style with a balcony overlooking the street with a view of planes taking off. The owner is old fashioned in a good way, and has a genuine smile and it's clear she takes pride in maintaining the property. Some of the amenities are usually only seen in 4 or 5 star hotels. Our stay should have been better, but the bed really needs to be upgraded, and some very rude guests spoiled our experience, as did housekeeping making noise in the morning which woke us up multiple times. The street is pretty cool though, with some great coffee shops and other restaurants nearby.

Check-in staff seemed grumpy and were not very friendly, they also did not appear dressed professionally for working at a hotel. Although our room was very clean and beautiful, the bed and pillows were not very comfortable. What really ruined our stay was some very rude Vietnamese guests in the next room who began shouting and running around the hallway at 5am in the morning, going in and out of their room with zero regard for other guests... this went on for 30 minutes until I screamed at them to stop and called the front desk to intervene. Believe it or not this is not the first time I've seen such early morning behavior from Vietnamese hotel guests, its totally bizarre. Not exactly the hotel's fault but we couldn't sleep much after that, we also later heard furniture moving around early morning from other rooms, presumably from housekeeping. When hotels wake up guests early morning, it's an automatic negative for me because it's very unprofessional. They should consider adding better soundproofing, turning off the hallway lights at night (which were shining into the room via ceiling windows), and paying more attention to the types of guests they are putting next to each other.
