Dhole's Den Bandipur

We recently spent two nights at this incredible eco-lodge, and it was the highlight of our trip to Bandipur. From the moment we arrived, we felt less like "tourists" and more like guests in a very sophisticated, eco-conscious home. The architecture oriented the views of the Nilgiri Mountains. The heart of Dhole’s Den is undoubtedly the people: Ingrid, our Host: Ingrid is an absolute gem. Her passion for conservation and her hospitality are infectious. She has a way of making you feel completely at ease, sharing fascinating stories about the local wildlife and the history of the lodge. The service here is impeccable yet unobtrusive. The staff is genuinely warm and attentive, ensuring every small detail of our stay was perfect. They truly go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. It is set in a beautiful quiet setting The sounds one heard were only from nature, which to us was very pleasing. Excellent food and service from staff. Birdwatching early mornings and most of the day time too was excellent Girish the guide is dedicated and knowledgeable.

Unfortunately for no fault of the resort the national park was closed to visitors due to farmers and government dispute. So we missed going on jungle safaris. Squirrels caused some problems in the room by making holes in the luggage to access anything that they could get hold of . Once we learnt it the hard way( holes in my backpack and suitcase!) we made sure we were safe. Message is all food should be locked away from the greedy squirrels!

Amazing location, staff and experience.

I stayed in a very nice room. It had a safari feel, ( kinda Bali too) The view was amazing. Ingrid is a gem, and the naturalist is very informative and kind. Very good food.

At times the staff seemed a little lost. But they pulled it off.
