The hotel is past its best. Lots of areas are In desperate need of refurbishment. Public area and rooms

After booking looking at the views over oban from the hotel we tried to call the hotel for information and the calls just continued to ring out so we give up. On arriving explained been calling the hotel all day staff said "sorry I've been busy I'm on my own"
Then on entering the room there's a stale smell, to add to a very high ceiling room with not one bit of character to it. We tried to open the window to let some fresh air in only to find it opened approx 5"
The very small double bed which looked lost due to the height of room was the final straw it was like a concrete slab.
We asked to loan a fan as the room was so hot but none was available. Went to the bar and the heater was blowing hot air it was 26c outside staff stated we can't turn it off ?
Only possible positive comments are the view and a pretty decent help yourself breakfast. Such a shame to leave a negative comment as Oban should have been a perfect stop over. Only book as a last resort.

Old Fashioned & to expensive no locks on bedroom door needs redecorating & upgrading like a Victorian hotel
