Stayed at the Great Western Hotel in Oban and it was an average experience overall. The location is decent, but there were a few issues that really affected our stay.
The towel radiator in the bathroom was not working, which was disappointing especially after being out in the cold and rain. The lift was also out of service, so we had to carry our heavy luggage up to the second floor ourselves.
The basic double room felt very claustrophobic and cramped. You definitely get what you pay for here. The walls are also very thin, so you can easily hear noise from the hallway and other guests.
If you have the option, I’d recommend booking a hotel closer to the harbour or town centre instead.

Comfortable bed, good breakfast with espresso/cappuccino/latte machine. Going through a renovation of the hotel, much needed but they are making the best of it. Room was comfortable, new carpet, bay view with open window to enjoy the breeze. It is an older room which needs renovation but was clean.

as upgrades to the hotel are being carried out the place should be shut down and to be charged £10per night to park at the hotel is beyond a joke as an ex member of staff I WILL NOT BE RETURNING other hotels offer higher standards
