Riad Oasissime

A beautiful Riad, in the heart of it all. Lovely staff, I felt safe travelling alone. The property is spotless and decor is calming.

The staff, particularly Zack, we outstanding. From the moment we arrived until when we left, they were all amazing. I really enjoyed trying to learn the local Tashelhit and Darija languages - which Zack was more than happy to help with. We spent ages researching Riads in the area before booking, and are so so so happy we booked this one. The Riad is located amazingly - so close to everywhere you would like to be. Our room was perfectly decorated for what we wanted - although my wife says she would have liked a small TV as she enjoys local TV while abroad - but this was a plus for me, as it means less screen time and more exploring. There is a great TV in the cozy lounge area anyway, which was excellent for watching the Wold Cup on! The breakfast each morning was AMAZING. The pool is hidden from the sun (we purposely chose this Riad for this) which was lovely to hide from the midday heat. The rooftop area offers a lovely sun-trap, and view of the bustling city. I’ve never left a review from an airport before, but I loved this place so much I felt compelled to. 100% will revisit (as long as Zack and the rest of the staff are still working there, at least).

A couple extremely minor things: 1. Not having a clothes iron. 2. Our room was directly opposite the reception area, and the curtains didn’t quite cover the view into our room - I was a bit worried at times about offending people (especially the more conservative visitors/staff/people) if they managed to get a glance of me naked. This is more the fact I didn’t want to offend anyone, as I’m not that bothered personally. 3. The lack of fridge in the rooms. However, we figured we could place water bottles in-front of the A/C to cool them perfectly, which worked a treat. 4. Finally, my biggest concern is how hardworking the staff are. They were there from when we got back (which was often close to 2am), and were still there and ready in the morning for breakfast come 8am. If they are not the owners, I implore the owners to maybe provide better working conditions; YOUR STAFF ARE AMAZING. But they need rest too!

Excellent fresh breakfast, great location, and such lovely plants all around the hotel!

No fridges in the room to keep bottles of water etc

The communication via booking.com was regarding arrival, transport etc was very good. The young man who collected myself at the airport was super nice, super friendly and so were the staff throughout my stay. I need to specifically acknowledge the venue were exceptional in accommodating an early arrival for me, and my room was already prepared, so a huge thanks to them for this. Hospitality needs to highlighted, the team were exceptional and welcoming.

I feel the attention to detail is missing in some areas. The cleanliness of the room was good, but areas were missed. Upon my arrival, I had a look around the room, an old wrapper in the shower area next to the soaps, cobwebs on the lattice panel above the toilet, and cobwebs on the side wall light above the bed furthest from the door. I did cut my leg on a table in TV room which really needs addressing (see snaps which are all date stamped) The small pool may look clean, but it is not. I was not really given a tour of the Riad which would have been nice, just the downstairs area and my room. Unlike the previous Riad I stayed at, I was given the grand tour, and communication was simplified by using WhatsApp with the host. WIFI - Despite being on the ground, the WIFI was probably one of the worst I have experienced. There's a selection of wifi networks TV - Upload 16.3m, Download 12.3m Douiria - Upload 11.9m, Download 6.4m (this was the main network everyone used) They were all shockingly slow, or losing connection even when I was in the main TV / reception area. Smoking - There is no consideration for the non-smokers staying. Guests congregate in the main downstairs seating area by the tree, much to the annoyance that as I am on the ground floor, the window and door to my room provided no protection against the smoke, and a table was set up for 4 guests to eat, immediately outside my bedroom window, all 4 guests were smoking at the table. So for any asthmatics, this is a no no! I was asked several times if I would return, unfortunately, based on this experience, I am afraid not. My previous stay at another Riad exceed this stay hugely I am afraid.
