Casa Rural El Rincon del Infante

Lovely big breakfast.

There is nothing not to like about Casa Rural. The hosts, Juan and Margarita, live on the premises and Juan spares no effort for his guests. The rooms are spacious, quiet, and comfortable. The house, whose original portion is hundreds of years old, is filled with antiques which Juan acquires and restores. The guest refrigerator was being replaced while we were there and Margarita graciously stored our perishables in her own. A guest microwave is supplied. The listing mentions washing machine and when I asked Juan about it, he said it was not accessible to guests. He insisted on washing our load himself -- at no extra charge -- and returned it the next day. Free street parking is available right outside and rooms are located on the ground and 1st floors. Villa de Don Fadrique is a sleepy town with two bar/cafes and a Dia supermarket. A larger Mercadona is in the next village. We used Casa Rural as a base for day trips to Toledo, which is one hour away by car. Although definitely off the beaten track, we loved our time there and immediately extended our stay. We hope to return someday. A great value at 49€ for two, including a generous, non-buffet breakfast (Sat/Sun/Mon, early March). English is not spoken but communication is easy even if you don't speak Spanish.

We spent one night in Casa El Rincon. It is situated around half hour easy drive from Consuegra and one hour from Toledo. Villa de Don Fadrigue is a small quiet town with two small grocery stores, bakery and restaurant. The accommodation is on the nicely maintained plaza in the corner traditional house. There was a free parking around the small park on the plaza. The whole house is very clean and furnished with the antiques. We had a twin room on the second floor. It was a good size and nicely decorated. Breakfast was simple and tasty. Juan was attentive and friendly host. Our Spanish is very basic, but we could communicate trough a Google translator.

All was great.
