Hotel Bagnitiello

Amazing little hotel tucked in the hills near Casamicciola. The pool area is the highlight, it's a thermal pool, the water is salty. We didn't have to rush every day to get sunbeds, there was plenty for guests and everyone including staff were super nice, you can order lunch from the pool. The small beach bar opens intermittently throughout the day too. The views are simply amazing, you could see Vesuvius from our room. The breakfast was nice, fruit, yoghurt, bread, you can order omlette too, the cakes are a highlight. And of course espresso freshly made. The staff were friendly and helpful, cleaned the rooms every day.

Not the hotel's fault but there were a lot of mosquitos so be prepared if they like you, sitting out on the terrace was not comfortable because of them. Also, the hotel is a bit retro, which is fine but would upgrade the bathrooms soon. It was clean just old. I took outdoor showers at the pool area which was lovely.

Loved everything, close to everything, bus came right outside the hotel, rooms were lovely and clean, ac was amazing, views were gorgeous, staff was super helpful and friendly, the pool was perfect Would definitely come back and recommend

It’s basic but clean and well-managed. The views were gorgeous and it was nice having a swimming pool and deck area. The breakfast, again, was basic but tasty - think yoghurts, cold meats and cheese, eggs, and pastries. The staff were very helpful and when I was checking out too early to have breakfast, they kindly made me a packed lunch. It was useful that there was a bus stop right outside the door.

If I were to return to Ischia, I’d probably stay closer to or in a town. While the bus stop was handy, the hotel wasn’t situated to easily ‘pop back to’. Obviously not something the hotel can change, but just a personal preference. The only other thing was how early the cleaning staff start. The first day I was getting ready for breakfast and I got a knock at 8.15am to have my room cleaned, which I think is very early to be up and out of the room when you’re on holiday.

It was a great place. Very easy going staff. And a bust stop right outside the door. Air con and good breakfast.

I think the pool could have longer opening hrs 8.30 -6 are generally the hrs you’re out and about exploring the island. Given the heat and the longer hrs of sunlight it would be nice to have a swim in the evening. That said I think this is common practice to close the pools around that time in a lot of places.
