Agriturismo Nonno Tobia

Maria and her son Tobia are so welcoming: she is warmth personified. She was very kind to me as I am learning Italian so I spoke to her all the time in my so so Italian. Dinner, at 35 euros per head with a bottle of wine, is delightful. All homemade and eaten in a very convivial way, all guests sitting together along a long table. Maria is fun on these occasions and Tobia explains what we're eating in perfect English. They accommodated my no pasta and no cheese husband 🙄 He was helpful in explaining that we should prebook our transport if we can to get around. We did and it certainly made life more agreeable - I nearly got crushed badly getting on a public bus from Amalfi one day when we couldn't book. The site you need are https://www.cmsamalficoast.com/

For us it was absolutely fine to walk to Bomerano from where the prebooked bus goes from but it takes about 30 mins. There is a public bus stop virtually outside the Agriturismo but to get to Amalfi from there it is virtually impossible as the path is full of walkers going to Bomerano to walk the Path of the Gods - which we did, highly recommend. There is no air conditioning in the rooms - in September when we were there it was ok but perhaps something to keep in mind.

We had a lovely stay at Nonno Tobia! Such a warm and welcoming place, with amazing homemade food and a really nice atmosphere. Maria and Tobia were so kind and helpful. We felt like we were visiting friends and would definitely come back!

If I could give more than 10 stars I would. This is an exceptional place to stay. From the beginning of our day when we were supposed to arrive, we were kept well informed by the host about the route and the check in. Tobia welcomed us at the gate, helped us with our luggage and explained everything in detail. The farmhouse is very well located (in mountains), very well maintained and homely. It presents a true beauty of Neapolitan culture and hospitality. We devoured homemade (beyond delicious) breakfast by Mamma Maria and enjoyed sharing stories with her. Must stay if you are in the area. We will definitely stay again.

From start to finish, everything was perfect. The warm welcome, the fantastic, traditional homemade food from Maria, nothing was too much trouble. We all felt right at home and had a most wonderful stay. Beautiful views from balcony over Agerola & a 45 min drive to Amalfi or the bus stops right outside.
