Montrose Guest House

Great value for money. Very clean and the location is good to local central to everything. Exceeded my expectations and as a guesthouse the property does everything you’d expect (heating, tv, hot water… etc)

I wish there was a small kitchen of some sort. Not necessarily a bad thing but would be ideal especially when you don’t want to eat in your room.

I liked the spaceous bathroom and shower. The bed was big and comfortable. I like that it had a fridge freezer and microwave in the room. Very handy.

There was a funny smell on arrival in the room, probably the drains/plugs... Room wasn't quite ready, no towels.. There was a kettle, and cups, but would have been lovely to have coffee sachets and tea provided too. Limited parking spaces, but wasn't an issue.

Location good, in a quiet cul-de-sac. Room and overall guest house was very clean. Owner was friendly and helpful The price was very reasonable

We went on the hottest weekend of the year so far and the room was a little hot but we are talking about the UK so would not be an issue generally.

The price was fair, the room became snug and warm, the TV was a good size. There was plenty of hot water. The owner was very welcoming. It was easy to find, an acceptable walk from Romford Station.

I was frequently asked for my arrival time. The toilet was private, but it was across the hall and down a corridor, the shower was ensuite which was much better. The floor was wood effect, as I presume was the one upstairs so I could hear every move by the occupant for a lot of the evening. The idea of a microwave is good, but not if it replaces a bedside light. I had to ask for the WiFi code by Text, it worked okay when I got it.
