Great location, beautiful views and had personal history attached. Staff were very attentive, polite and went above and beyond.
A lot of supplies which was a nice touch!
Very outdated bathroom and bed was really uncomfortable/not as advertised. A lot of stains and mould in the bathroom.
Breakfast options were good and the range of options was excellent but the Scottish breakfast wasn’t the best quality (link sausage specifically).

The room was fine.
Breakfast food was first class with plenty of options.
I dislike eating in the company of dogs. A group of guests has a small dog which began to yap on one morning and the next day peed on the floor at the side of my table. Not exactly what you want at breakfast. Why can't people leave their dogs in the room. Dog owners must understand not everyone likes their dogs as they do. To be fair another guest had a dog which was quiet and well behaved

Like stepping into an Agatha Christie novel. Lovely. We arrived very late, driving through a storm and were delighted to find that the kitchen had stayed open for us. Just as well as the food was delicious and I was pleased to see an exhaustive wine list which is rare in this part of the world.
Our 10/10 breakfast the next morning was enjoyed as the storm still raged outside. The views were amazing but made even more special by the biblical rain.
Nothing.

We loved the view, comfortable bed and pillows, the staff were great and the menu was extensive for being a small venue. Evening meal was fantastic and drinks menu was great aswel
Breakfast was delicious both mornings. Will stay here again next time we visit Campbeltown, we loved the original features and quirkiness of the hotel.
If i had to be picky, the house keeper missed quite a few cobwebs but cleaned them when I pointed them out.

Great traditional building with lots of history. Good sized rooms clean and functional.
Great for one night. Bit far from main part of town and not easy to get a cab back.

We've stayed at the Craigard many times over the years for work and have always had a great stay. I've stayed in many of the different rooms during the different stays, and all of them have had everything I needed and a comfortable bed. The rooms at the front have lovely views over the loch. Staff serving in the restaurant were very friendly and we enjoyed having a drink outside looking out at the lovely view.
Water pressure in the shower was a bit low, but I know this is probably something that can't be helped due to the location.

Well-positioned above the loch, with stunning views. Staff were warm and friendly.

A good location to explore Kintyre. The dining room had lovely views over the loch
We expected our room to be on the ground floor, as described in the room description, but it was up a flight of stairs, which I find difficult because of mobility issues. This was disappointing. Room quite pricey.

Everything - food is delicious. Bedroom very spacious as was the bathroom. The hotel is a very interesting place and the decor reflects its glory days as a private dwelling. Lounge is a great place to relax and chat with other guests. Views are lovely. One of our favourite hotels.

We had booked the four poster bedroom with a sea view. It was lovely. We could sit at the settee and look out at the harbour. The bed was big and comfortable. The linen smelled lovely. The bathroom was nicely decorated with a large light above the mirror. The breakfast was lovely although they do not cater for anyone who is diary free.
The young gentleman who served us at dinner and breakfast was pleasant.
The house had electric heaters in the lounge instead of taking advantage of the beautiful big fireplace in the lounge. The fireplace was instead covered in plastic flower decorations.
The dinner was a disappointment. They asked us what time we would like dinner. We said 6.30pm. They never said anything about this so we assumed it was okay. However when we came down for dinner, ourselves and another couple were told there would be a wait (people were already in the dining room eating) and our dinners would be made in order that the young gentleman had taken them. (There was initially another guest there, by himself, who had also ordered dinner but then cancelled it and decided to go for a chippy instead.) So we were second. We didn’t get our starters till 7.40pm.
Right away you could see there was too much choice. With ‘specials’, an ‘a la carte’ menu AND an another menu where you can get 3 courses for £20. There’s no way this was all cooked fresh. Another guest commented that their ‘roast beef’ which was from the specials’ could have been a ‘boil in the bag’. My husband had scallops for starters which he enjoyed. I had goats cheese which looked like it had just come out of a packet you could buy at a supermarket and they had attempted to heat it up but it was only mildly heated around the edges. And they had just poured some balsamic vinegar on top. I regretted ordering this. The main course was okay but it’s pretty easy to make ‘hunters chicken’. The vegetables that came with this were tasteless.
When you are ordering breakfast make sure you ask for toast. They will give you this automatically.
The young gentleman wore jogging bottoms and a casual jumper when serving breakfast and checking us out at the front desk.

The second room was very good. The first room offered to us was quite unacceptable.
The waitress at dinner was very pleasant and did what she could.
The first room, no 14, was unacceptable. Very small, no outlook, although described as having a courtyard outlook, what it really was, was a very small space with two chairs surrounded by 12 foot walls on two sides. One fairly small window. Had to wait just over an hour for our dinner after it was ordered and even then, mine wasn’t quite right - battered chicken instead of breaded chicken. Cancelled dinner for the second evening and had an excellent dinner at a local restaurant. Breakfast looked nice but bacon was dried out and very difficult to eat, as was the tattie scone. Available parking was not great!

Peaceful location. This is the place to stay if you want to "hear" silence. Hotel has lots of character and owners were very friendly.
Little disappointed in the standard of food, given the excellent reviews we had read.
