I would thoroughly recommend visiting this village and Verónica’s appartment is perfectly located.

Verónica the host was most helpful and friendly. The location was incredible- easy walk to all the picturesque places the village has on offer.

The facilities functioned more or less, but a little pricey for what it is. That may be because of Semana Santa- it is not fancy at all but comfortable enough

WONDERFUL STAY

, After a lovely drive up from Estepona we came to one of the loveliest unspoilt villages in Spain.Our host Veronica was so helpful with everything from start to finish.The apartment was excellent,,clean ,spacious and well stocked.We had dinner at Veronica and Gloria,s other hotel in the evening and wow what great homemade food.Such great hosts cannot fault our stay in any way.Just wish our trip could have been longer and we will definitely return in the near future.Thankyou for such a wonderful stay in your charming village..Spain at its best.

Superb

Great value for money. The apartment was a perfect place for our stay in the very beautiful village.The apartment has a kitchen, a living room and two bedrooms. The shower provides instantly hot water! So everything was fine and comfortable. Better take one of the two upstairs apartments because of the beautiful views. Parking is possible nearby. There is a small shop in the village (but no gas station and no bank/atm). The roads to Genalguacil are awesome, steep and winding - great if you love mountain roads! Also very good hiking opportunities around here.

Very authentic Andalusian apartment in the mountains, an experience to remember

Staying in a very typical old fashioned Andalusian apartment was why we booked this accommodation and we really enjoyed discovering the pretty very authentic village in the mountains. It was winter and we knew that it would be a cold place to stay so we packed extra blankets and heavy snow jackets. The village is stunning, with lots of street art, typical whitewashed buildings with many routes for hiking. Very memorable :) No electric kettle but the water coming out of the hot tap was boiling hot, we had to be careful to not burn ourselves.

The village is beautiful to walk around but not so great for driving around with its typical narrow roads and crazy corners. We could not find the address to pick up the key, so while my husband waited in the car, I went through the village asking local children and adults where the road was. No one seemed to know the names of any of the roads but eventually a local woman came looking for me and showed me the road. I went to the address where we were told to pick up the keys but it was shut and no one there. In the end, I had to ring the man and he told me to meet him at the church which he did. He showed us the apartment quickly and where we could park, which was very near the apartment.

A lovely break from daily life to recharch my batteries in a serene and calming environment.

The appartment exceeded my expectations. A place to return too. Beautiful surroundings for walking or bathing in the river. The restaurant in the village was a wonderful place for us to dine with views. The hostesses were extremely friendly and helpful.

Beautiful white village tucked in the Serranía de Ronda, with art around each corner

Genalguacil is a delightful village tucked in the steep hills of the Serranía de Ronda, some 65 minutes' drive from the town of Ronda. It has two or three places to eat, one shop, all you need really (NB no ATM or gas station). The Apartamentos Jardines del Visir, which belong to the B&B Posada del Recovero, sit on one side of the village, with views to the hills. They are well equipped, simple but comfortable, and provide an excellent base. The village has a deep affinity with art and resident artists of all sorts have produced pieces of work which are proudly on display in the streets - you will enjoy discovering them all, some being tucked away in surprising places! Veronica, who runs both the B&B and the apartments, is very kind and welcoming, a superb cook, and most thoughtful in her attention to guests. You can dine in the B&B, upon advance notice (there are only 4 tables), and the home-cooked food is a must. There is (free) street parking near to the apartment. The wi-fi was fine, the beds comfortable, and the shower warm and wet. I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a "get away from it all" break.

All good, but just a suggestion to bring earplugs since - as with any village anywhere in the world - there are noises that may keep you awake: dogs and cockerels in this case (neither too bad). Once you have walked up and down the steep hills, you will probably fall asleep instantly in any case...

Apartamento deluxe? Ojalá!

La ubicación, ya habíamos ido años anteriores y el pueblo nos gustaba.

Todo! Estuvimos en el apartamento “deluxe”, que de deluxe nada, está reformado y punto. La chimenea no funcionaba y expulsaba humo así que, no pudimos utilizarla y a la mañana siguiente hacía tanto frío que echábamos vaho. La parte de arriba, con el aire acondicionado en modo caliente está genial pero abajo el calor no llega. El baño reformado muy mono pero apestaba a humedad, apestaba. Las toallas olían a comida, nunca nos había pasado y eso que era el cuarto año que íbamos a alguno de sus apartamentos. Por la pared de la chimenea se filtraba agua así que nos pasamos los días con la fregona. Por no hablar de la peste en general que había. Justo fuera están constantemente gatos y el olor a gato entra (los del pueblo los alimentan justo en esa calle…). Y, como siempre, el trato de la que nos recibió. Te avisan previamente de que llegues dinero en efectivo y cuando no lo haces y tiene que cobrarte con tarjeta, las formas son dignas de ver. En otras ocasiones también nos lo hacía cuando íbamos a la posada y pagamos el desayuno con tarjeta (unos 6€ por persona…). Le sentó mal que pagáramos la estancia con tarjeta y ya de malas formas nos dijo que nos habian dejado leña de cortesía pero que si queríamos más buscásemos al señor del pueblo, que ya a ellos no (por supuesto sin facilidades de nombre, teléfono…) luego el cierto que se le pasa y es agradable pero ya está bien de las malas formas porque nos neguemos a pagar en efectivo. Que siempre es igual. Un desastre el apartamento, el olor y el frío. 4 años yendo y ya con esta habrá sido la última, será por sitios. Y barato no fue….

Alojamiento muy bien ubicado para practicar el turismo rural, sobre todo senderismo y excursiones por la zona. La vivienda es bastante sobria, acorde con el ambiente rústico en el que se encuadra. Está bastante bien equipada y es cómoda, además de fresca y muy bien aireada. Las vistas son excepcionales a la Serranía de Ronda. El pueblo es muy tranquilo y excelente para los amantes de la paz y el silencio. También diré que tienen una relación especial con el mundo del arte. Un descubrimiento para todos aquellos que les guste el turismo rural, el senderismo y la vida en naturaleza.

Falta mobiliario en dormitorio principal, una cómoda o un armario. El menaje es un poco escaso

En el paraíso cada vez que voy

Es la segunda vez que voy con un amigo o amiga y mi perrita Maya y la casa tiene de todo lo que puedas necesitar en cualquier estación del año. El pueblo precioso, la casa en la misma calle del museo y perfectamente ubicada para verlo todo. La piscina municipal (gratuita con la estancia) parecía de hotel de lujo, restaurantes veganos y no veganos donde se adaptan a ti con comida muy rica. Verónica y Gloria encantadoras, amabilísimas, muy atentas y simpáticas, y nos dieron muy requetebien de desayunar y cenar por muy bien precio. Repetiría sin duda, lugar de diez, casa de diez, comida de diez y personal de un millón.

El trato de los anfitriones,su amabilidad.Vero y Gloria encantadoras. La gente del pueblo muy cariñosa y el museo me gusto también Disfrutamos muchísimo con el paisaje. El río que aprovechamos para refrescar un poquito los pies. La comida en la Venta S.Antonio y en el bar a la entrada del pueblo.Los dueños, personas muy agradables y muy buena la comida (migas de la receta de su madre,muy ricas) En general todo muy bien.

La cantidad de curvas que hay en la carretera,para ir de un pueblo a otro.Pero esto está superado con la belleza del paisaje. Volveria otra vez.

Un solo ventilador para toda la casa hace mucho calor en verano y lavadora no esta dentro de la casa sino una para todos los apartamentos y 40minutos de curva hasta llegar al pueblo.

Muy buena opcion para familias

Pueblo muy tranquilo, gente muy amable, ideal para desconectar del bullicio de la ciudad. Piscina, aunque municipal, muy limpia y bastante accesible. Al estar alojados en un apartamento municipal, teniamos acceso a dicha piscina totalmente gratis. Dicha piscina, dispone de bar lo que le da puntos a favor para pasar el día en ella.

En mi apartamento, no tenia tenderete (cosa que en otros si) cuando iba a colgar la ropa lavado o toallas despues de la piscina, no tenia donde colgarla, utilizaban el tenderete que tenia en mi ventana todo el que queria y cuando porfin pude usarlo, me quitaron la ropa y la mezclaron con la de otro apartamento para colgar las toallas de otra habitacion que estaban limpiando.
