Chambres d'hôtes Artelit

The location is incredible. Right in the heart of Vieux Lyon, with our own view of Le Tour Rose. Short walk to Metro station and the Saone. Surrounded with shops and restaurants, there is also a nice boulangerie just around the corner. The room itself is full of interesting furniture, ornaments and paintings. In the photos I've attached the room is the one with lights on and the Tour Rose in the background.

Could do with a little wardrobe and drawers for clothes. It didn't matter for 3 nights but next time if we stay longer it would help us to organise our things. I can't remember if the description mentions that there are quite a lot of stairs, it didn't bother us but might be difficult for some.

Central location in the old town with easy access to Metro, restaurants, bars, etc.

The bed is on a mezzanine floor which means you have to duck to get in and out of the bed.

Frédéric’s apartment is one of the most unusual and memorable places I’ve stayed. It’s rare to stay somewhere with so much genuine character, surrounded by the art, books and objects of someone who clearly has a serious engagement with art and culture. It feels completely different from the generic Airbnb experience, and there’s a lovely sense of trust in being invited to spend time in such a personal and carefully collected space. The apartment itself is full of charm and personality, very quiet, and brilliantly located for exploring Lyon. If you appreciate art, books, interesting interiors and places with a life of their own, it’s quite special. Frédéric was a wonderful host and I feel very lucky to have stayed there.

During our short stay the weather plummeted to -2 and the old system of storage heaters struggled to maintain comfortable heat. Picture quality of the television prohibitive - not living up to the task of providing a cosy, relaxing experience. WiFi - was free but connectivity issues and generally unstable.
