We can only recommend a stay at the Philippeio Hotel.

A quiet and poetic place with a beautiful view of the countryside and the nearby excavations. Greek breakfast, rich and tasty. Staff always willing to help and advise, but not intrusive. Parking is possible right next to the hotel, plenty of space.

There were no lunch or dinner options at the hotel restaurant during our stay.

One of the best hotels we stayed at in Greece!

This hotel is a hidden gem. Beautiful facilities overlooking the valley with free parking. Great breakfast. But the owner made the stay, with a passion for the area and history. Willing to sit down and give helpful tips planning your day and even places to go that you won't find in guidebooks.

Unique location, Superb view. Extremely kind owner, ready to answer all wishes. (He prepared grilled fish for us, even though it was not on the menu.) Only 20 minutes by car from the beaches.

Clean, practical. Rooms have great air-con and marble floors. The views from the restaurant over the Plain of Philippi were outstanding. We love this hotel and have visited four times. It doesn’t have a pool but the rooms, outstanding views, fantastic food with home specialities more than make up for that. A fantastic ‘does what it says on the tin’ hotel.

Incredible Greek hospitality in a stunning location!

The location is very convenient, whether you're interested in the archaeological site at Philippi or want to spend time at the beaches by Kavala. The hotel itself is beautiful and a labor of love for the family who built and own it. The south-facing rooms have a fantastic view of the village of Krinides and the surrounding valley and it was very peaceful during the night and morning. The best part of our stay was the incredible hospitality shown to us by the owners! They did not hesitate to share their recommendations about sites and restaurants in the area, even drawing maps so we would end up at the right place! They also have a wealth of knowledge about the region's history and culture, and we learned a lot through our conversations with them. The Philippeio Hotel is high on our list when we make a return trip to Greece and we will make sure to extend the duration of our stay!

The whole experience was wonderful, so I have no suggestions for improvement!

Otel Kavala-Drama ortası diyebileceğimiz bir yerde tepe üstünde güzel manzaralı bir yerde.Odalar son derece temiz konukseverlik harikaydı.Bir daha geldiğimizde gözü kapalı tercih edebileceğimiz bir yer. Schönes Hotel, sehr gut gelegen, großartiges Frühstück.

Ein unglaubliches Frühstück, auch die Mahlzeiten im Restaurant waren großartig. Ein freundlicher Besitzer, der samt seiner Familie dafür gesorgt hat, daß man sich so richtig wohlfühlt. Das Hotel ist nur wenige hundert Meter von der Ausgrabungsstätte von Philippi entfernt, auf einem Hügel gelegen und mit wunderbarer Aussicht über die Ebene, aber auch die Akropolis von Philippi hat man in Sichtweite. Das Hotel liegt absolut ruhig, jeglicher Komfort ist vorhanden. Und wenn ich etwas brauchte, habe ich sofort von der Familie des Besitzers Unterstützung bekommen. Eines der besten Hotels, in dem ich jemals übernachtet habe.
