Casa D' Joao Enes - Afife Residence

Residence che si trova nella parte alta di Afife; bella struttura, dotata di piscina con camere di giuste dimensioni. Proprietario molto cordiale e disponibile, ci ha indicato dove poter cenare la sera e ci ha fornito informazioni sul cammino di Santiago.

Premesso che non ho fatto una domanda diretta, non ci è stato indicato il costo della colazione, 20€ a testa. Prezzo comunque adeguato ( bicchieri di cristallo etc. )

Ein sehr schönes Haus, freundlicher Empfang, tolles außergewöhnliches Frühstück. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Beautiful location. Lots of character. Great recommendation for local restaurant which the owner had previously booked for us.

The photos on booking.com shows many sunbeds round the pool. There were no sunbeds although the owner saw myself and my 88 year old mum going to the pool after a long camino walk but did not offer to get any beds out. We were asked if we wanted breakfast and wished we had checked the price first as the additional charges taken amounted to around £60 although we could only assume this was about 20 euros per person as the owner would not provide a breakdown of the costs! Incidentally there is no cooked/hot options for breakfast. He also claimed he had upgraded a room as my brother was tall but this had not been mentioned to us. I think prices for breakfast and the drinks in the fridge need displaying. Property needs some tlc.

Absolutely beautiful house with a pool in a stunning location

We stayed 1 night while walking the Camino. It was absolutely freezing! We were there mid May so you may be luckier if you go in high summer. There was no heating, the windows were running with condensation in the morning and the blinds were covered in mould spots. 2 of the rooms (superior) had fridges with water and beer plus a coffee machine - no indication of price ( I would expect to at least pay for the beer but not coffee or water in a superior room). There was nobody around when we left but my credit card was charged an extra €27. On querying this I was told there was a charge of €18 for 5 tiny bottles of water, 1 coffee pod and 1 small beer. I’m yet to know if they will refund me the remaining €9. Thank goodness we didn’t stay for breakfast (which I understand is €20) but walked to a wonderful cafe about 15 minutes away. This was our most expensive accommodation and was an enormous disappointment UPDATE I have just read the response from the property! My biggest issue was the fact that the property was so cold (and other guests mentioned this to us) - I have no problem with paying for drinks consumed (albeit at somewhat inflated prices that weren’t advertised) but I do have a problem with my credit card being overcharged even by just €9
