Hostal Roca

Location is great - very close to the free parking, bus station, port area with restaurants and a supermarket. A bit of a walk for the beach, but not far. Staff are lovely, were always friendly, helpful and welcoming, - a pleasure to deal with. The room was kept very clean, with the towels changed daily. Enjoyed the opportunity to leave the luggage in the storage after the check out to enjoy my day before returning to the hotel for a shower, change and heading to the airport in the evening. It's good to have the microwave at the reception area if in need of warming up some food.

My single room was quite small, so would be a real squeeze for a large person or a tall guy, especially the bathroom, but it fitted me ok with me being of a slimmer build and 5'7/168cm tall. It was odd to notice that the wardrobe missed a door, but it didn't bother me much. The shower had some mould on the ceiling, between the tiles and on the shower head - not the most pleasant view, as well as toxic, especially to the sensitive and allergy-prone people. Would benefit from a thorough cleaning. My room felt damp even in the hot summer climate and hardly any rain outside, so I had the windows open or aircon on to battle it. Overall, it felt better with these measures. The windows went into the 'light well', so no much of a view there. As the hostel is close to the bar street, you could hear the beats from the venues nearby. Quiet beats, it did not disturb me, but may do a sensitive sleeper.

The only thing they needed was some hooks to hang beach towels to dry

The property was clean and usable , great room. The staff were helpful and polite. They let us leave our luggage in a locker while we went out on our day while we waited to leave for the airport.

the beds were a little uncomfortable and the noise off the hotel at night was loud , like there was construction work
