It was just shy of wonderful, because of one very unfortunate staff encounter

Location. Sweet, historic hotel. Breakfast was delicious and served in our room at request. The restaurant next door was a gem. Great food, great service and good value.

Most of the staff were wonderful. However, the older woman, was offensively rude. There was a misunderstanding about breakfast our first day and even though we had put our request in writing it was not honored and we were blamed for having a nonexistent conversation with another member of staff for it having been cancelled. I was further blamed, in French, by this older woman a day later for not having a basic understanding of French. While as a tourist, I have no responsibility to know French for a 2 week vacation, I do have some basic skills and understood her criticism- which was intended to belittle me and not be understood. As an aside, I do have proficiency in Spanish, and some basic French. My daughter who was traveling with me IS proficient in French.

Lovely stay in a boutique hotel, full of character and charm , with great staff, we’ll be back.

Fantastic location. Close to beach , short walk to the port and handy for access to Calanques National Park. Free parking was very handy too. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Sea view terraces were an added bonus.

Pleasant surroundings, great location if a little noisy due to bar attached.

Charming room and daily change service was appreciated as well as the upkeep of the lovely grounds.

Breakfast was promoted on Booking website as "excellent" but was disappointing. You could not make any special requests and it was sparse.

Incredible. Worth every penny.

Beautiful stay. Quietly tucked behind another hotel, you enjoy the privacy and the quiet. The view wins your heart immediately. The balcony of room 1 is so spacious, it's essentially an extra room. We spent most of our time on the balcony. I set up my home office outside with the view of the Mediterranean sea while my partner rested inside. The hosts were very courteous. The breakfast, albeit a bit pricey, was also very nice. Loved the rustic vibe. The colors, the decorations were beautiful and really added so much to our trip. Great location. Beautiful beach right outside with some cool cafes. Right on the way of your hike to Les Calanques so you save an extra maybe 5-10 mins versus if you stayed near the pier. Happy to recommend it to anyone, but the room we booked was mainly for couples.

Some small nitpicks: we did not have much privacy when using the toilet, or taking a shower. There was a lot of dust in the balcony, but no problem for us to clean it up ourselves. Besides these miniscule gripes, our stay was perfect.

Gorgeous views, comfy room, tastefully decorated shared spaces, wonderful staff and tasty breakfast

We had a small but beautiful room with our own terrace and view of the sea. The shared spaces, veranda included, are beautifully decorated, with lots of cushions, color, and basically, wherever you go, you kind of want to sit down and enjoy your surroundings. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. And they will bring breakfast to your room, if you'd like that. We did. The yoghurt was among the best, most creamy, smooth, and delicious I have ever had -- as were the bread and condiments. I am not sure how it would be during the busiest days of the year (july/august) but I couldn't recommend it more. Plus... the beach just a minute and really great (even michelin starred) restaurants just a few minutes of walking away.

Perfect location in Cassis.

When we arrived, our room was on the roadside and a big no no for us, but the hostess did make a huge effort to change our room and asked other guests if they would prefer the sea view room so we could have the quieter room. The location was superb and offered us easy access to the beach and a short walk into town. The little pizza restaurant at the entrance of the hotel was excellent with an amazing vide and reminded us that restaurants with a casual atmosphere are often the best, don't always go for chic!

Some of the staff members were quite stroppy, but this did add to character. The breakfast was quite expensive for what it was.

Perfect

This is a truly lovely Inn, full of character and charm in the most perfect location., just across the street from the beach. We sat on our balcony gazing at the sea each morning while we ate breakfast and in the evenings as we were winding down. The staff was also wonderful. If we are ever able to return to Cassis, I would not want to stay anywhere else!

Excellent! GreAt place to stay in beautiful Cassis!

Loved it! Where do I start as there were so many things we loved about our stay and the hotel. Rustic, quirky, spotlessly clean, nice outdoor spaces, excellent position just over the road from the beach and the most amazing views of the bay. Very helpful and friendly staff who made us all feel welcome. We were travelling down to Spain with our two French Bulldogs so it important to us that they are catered for as it makes life easier for us. Thank you again!

Very Sad to Leave

Our terrace was exceptional and we spent a lot of time enjoying the view, meals and night lights. The employees were all exceptional. The breakfast delivered to the terrace was exceptional.

Charming and historic hotel in a perfect location.

View was great over the water. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was perfect-across from beach, four restaurants next door, and Cassis marina only a 10min walk. We loved the breakfast that they made for us each morning, it was perfect. The premises themselves oozed charm and history.

A Wonderful Stay

The hotel’s location was fabulous - just opposite the beach & only a 20 minute stroll from the stunning Calanques. Le Jardin d’Emile is very characterful & charming, our room was excellent, and the staff were really lovely. It will be our hotel of choice whenever we visit Cassis in the future.

The hotel is in a fantastic location neat the beach and under a 10 minute walk to the town. The staff are very welcoming and polite and even lent me money to buy a pizza because I arrived after all the restaurants closed on my first night. The bed is very comfortable and it is a very good shower. I had breakfast on my first morning which was good and was bread and French pastries and fresh orange juice. I had a very enjoyable stay and would come again.

This hotel is so welcoming with such a warm atmosphere and comforting decoration. The beds were comfortable, clean and the air con worked brilliantly! Good power in the shower! Lovely little balcony, lots of restaurants in walking distance. Beach across the road!

The property and the room were amazing, but what really made this place exceptional was the staff. So friendly and accommodating. I would travel back to cassis for no other reason than to stay with them—but luckily there are many reasons; what a beautiful city!

Beautiful location right on the beach, a comfy and romantic space

The location is amazing, the staff on check-in were so lovely and the bed was super comfortable with great sheets and pillows. There was a little terrace attached to the room which was great to work outside.

The €15 breakfast didn't blow me away. It would be nice to have some musli and vegetables to go with the bread provided. Also, the temperature of the shower kept changing the first night we showered but was normal every other time.

An ideal stay....gorgeous!

This quiet old-style hotel is ideally placed for access to Cassis centre and next to a small beach. We had a comfortable room with a little balcony overlooking the garden. The staff were exceptionally friendly and served a generous breakfast. We really loved it and will return

The gardens which give their name to the hotel and which are beautiful could do with a little TLC (tender loving care) and renovations around them to help with parking... but that is a minor point.
