Hotel Guardamar

I have stayed at this hotel for many years . Very friendly

The hotel has been updated to a high standard. The rooms are lovely. We had a lovely view from our balcony, which had a lovely view of the beach and the sea.

The only problem was that the restaurant was not open in the evening.

Staff were friendly.

Breakfast is extremely limited and not worth anything like the 15euros they charge for it. We were one of the first guests after their refurb and upgrade to four star status. There were irritating problems with the new access control system. That's OK I understood after a refurb these things happen. They are just glitches. Breakfast is not a glitch, what was served was good enough in terms of preparation. BUT......there is hardly anything from choose from, almost no variety, below basic. That is not a glitch. In straight up words: BREAKFAST IS A RIP OFF AND HORRIBLY OVERPRICED FOR WHAT IT IS. I recommend staying at this hotel but don't pay in advance for breakfast you are GUARANTEED DISAPPOINTMENT if you do.

Although there were plenty of Tv stations there were none in English ( unless you include a few news stations). It rained non stop on Christmas Day , little to do inside hotel and the Tv was no use when nothing in English. A Staff member working in the bar /restaurant serving drinks, making coffee and serving food was coughing very badly and showing all the signs of having a cold/flu throughout my entire stay. My last night I spent in hotel suffering from a bad cold which I no doubt picked up from this staff member.
