Boutique Hotel Classico Bremen

Hotel Classico sits in a genuinely lovely spot in Bremen's old town, and a parking garage just a short walk away makes arriving by car straightforward. The room itself was clean and pleasant, and the downstairs bar caused us no bother. In other circumstances, this could be a comfortable stay. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed from the moment we arrived. The concierge/manager on duty made it immediately clear we were an inconvenience. When he noticed I had two children with me, he informed us he only had one child registered — despite my booking confirmation plainly stating otherwise. Rather than working with us to resolve what was, at its core, a very simple situation (two boys sharing a double pull-out bed already made up for one), he repeatedly insisted I was wrong and told me to contact the booking platform. To resolve my son sleeping in a bed already booked and prepared. My husband was so taken aback by the hostility that he wanted to leave on the spot. I remained calm and simply asked how we could move forward. Eventually we were hurried to our room with the promise that extra bedding and towels would follow — items we had never actually requested, since the children were sharing as planned. The whole episode left us genuinely shaken; we had not made an error, it was not a complicated ask, and there was no cause whatsoever for the rudeness we encountered. For a four-star hotel, there were also some puzzling practical shortcomings. The bedside lamps are rechargeable, which would be fine — except the only charging point is behind the headboard, completely inaccessible. Ours weren't charged. The kettle had nowhere sensible to be plugged in other than the floor beside a lamp. The toilet roll holder was coming away from the wall. These are the kinds of finishing details a four-star property really should have in order. We made the best of it and ended up having a decent stay overall. But the service left such a mark that we won't be returning, and we wouldn't feel comfortable recommending this hotel to others.

Stayed 1 night in this hotel in mid-June. Hotel is bang in the middle of the square and is very convenient. Our room was facing the square, so the view was great. Hotel in above a café and restaurant and the reception is a small room tucked aways inside the restaurant and we had to wait about 15 mins for someone to show up to check us in. Room has air con but no fans. Room has a mini fridge. Over all a nice convenient hotel.
