Super friendly staff who upgraded us to a wondeful room with sea view. The room was immense! And I like how they kept the historical items in the room. We attended a party at the Wellington Arena, a short walking distance from the hotel.

The experience was afwel and not ACCEPTABLE; It was vyery warm, the hotel does not have airco so you need to leave the window open which was not possible, as there was a music festival just next the hotel, CO-SPONSORED BY THE HOTEL - starting at 10pm with EXTREME LOUD music UNTIL LATER THAN 2 /00 AM !!!
we then deciided to move to another hotel (calling them before) and paid doulble hotel to have some sleep
this is a non acceptable situation and NO RESPECT WHAT SO EVER TO GUESTS, AT A 4 star hotel !!!!

The room with a terrace is worth the money. The view is stunningly good.
Very comfortable bed.
The location is beyond praise.
Icy reception staff. They don't even try to pretend that they are happy to see you. My chemistry teacher was more friendly. You stand at the reception and it's like you're getting a grade.
The hotel is designed for mass business events. Crowds are everywhere, individual tourists will not feel comfortable there.
Everything is very old and very poorly thought out. Soundproofing is poor (you can hear like in a concrete bag).
Nobody here thinks about where you will put your things.
The maids literally smash the hotel from early morning. They don't even try to think about the comfort of the guests.
The hotel restaurant said at one o'clock that they had no room for the evening. By the way, everywhere in the city the reception of orders ends at 20:30. Take this into account when planning your dinner.
There was a party on the beach that night. Do you think the hotel staff was interested? No. So the dream of "sleeping with the windows open" remained a dream.

Comfortable bed and great food
Nicely furnished rooms show more wear and tear than expected at a 4 star hotel

Beautiful room with amazing sea view. Very friendly staff. Perfect location, a bit further from noisy centre. Nearby exceptional spa with many different facilities. Historical building with royal vibe. Unforgettable!
Hope they will restore the thermal area and spa area for full royal experience.

The hotel is quite grandiose and has a very beautiful architectural structure. It is from a whole other era and has a sort of “back-in time” feeling which is quite interesting to travel to, in addition to the sea shore.
The room was very spacious, comfortable, clean and with a large bathroom and having a large window with sea-view (as requested).
Most of the staff was young and even though they were very nice, there can be a bit of improvement in their training. Also the breakfast choice was correct but not very large. It felt as if everyone was either in a summer camp vacation or some reminiscing communism era (which I know well, so not necessarily to take as a negative remark).
But they are trying to make everything work, given that the hotel is huge and could potentially be lost in the future, which would be quite a pitty.
Last, the soap and shampoo samples were limited to a person and we were two, so definitely not enough for a two days stay.

Most interesting location, as Hôtel des Thèrmes was opened in the Thirties by the Belgian King. Parts of the hotel are not in use, but the rooms that are in use, are great. Staff is dressed in uniform. Old charm.

Access for disable people is a bit complicated after 10pm. I had to make the tour of the building to join the beach after 10pm.

This is obviously an impressive looking hotel directly by the beach (which is huge and clean and would be great for families) and away from the bustle of the main drag. The rooms are large and clean. There is a big bistro-type place for drinks and meals, although I didn't eat there. I can imagine Ostend would be a good summer family holiday destination.
This beautiful building is missing a lot of love. It is literally falling apart. The main (imposing) entrance is closed and you have to trapse through the car park if you arrive by cab. Plastic shower curtains. Plastic plants everywhere. IKEA furniture in my bedroom. Marks on the carpets and walls. Basic individual toiletries (more plastic). No air-con. The bistro staff do not know how to make a cuppa. Taxi I ordered didn't turn up. It's all a bit drab and disappointing. I had been so looking forward to staying in a palace, but it felt anonymous and not all special. I should have read the reviews.

super friendly staff at check-in/out
spacious clean refurbished room
modest new furniture
good sleep in quality king bed
art deco bistro is beautifully refurbished
I hope they will refurbish the remaining areas of the hotel (like bathrooms) and the entire exterior, so Thermae Palace becomes what it once was, an “institute” in Ostend.

Nice location in a historic Hotel. Needs a bit of renovation. Great bed and nice room with sea view and a spacious terrace. It was a fun experience. We do like a bit of a bygone era.
The breakfast was OK but we expected a bit more considering the price (€20).
Outside, the crossing needed additional and conspicuous support to prevent collapse. That was a bit sad. Hopefully this will be sorted out in the future. They had done their best to keep it as aesthetically pleasing as possible.

The hotel itself is beautiful inside main lobby. Beautiful location that will be amazing in the summer.
Having to pay extra for car parking. For a hotel car parking should be included. Most people have to travel by car so it is not unexpected. 15 euro a night is very expensive and had I not been on business this would have been a deal breaker for me.
