A beautiful hotel with lovely interior design and an exceptionally kind and professional staff. The dinner at the Michelin-starred restaurant was truly exceptional, and the breakfast is among the best I have experienced in Croatian hotels.
For a hotel of this price range and reputation, the bathrooms are in need of renovation. One of the lights in our room was not working, the shower screen was rusty and water leaked outside the bathtub, and the toilet seat was loose and even fell off. The body and hair care products were average at best, if not below average, which is simply not acceptable for a hotel of this caliber.

Worst check-in we’ve ever experienced. Apathetic, lazy, inconsiderate check-in desk person didn’t even bother to show us to our room or even try to get someone to help us get our luggage from the parking lot to our room. They just sat there and pointed to a door and said “You can bring it in that way.” We’re 70 and 65. Unbelievable behavior for a highly rated and expensive hotel. We’ve had much better experiences at much cheaper hotels worldwide.
Then another person at the desk said they would have to hold our passports until we left. I pointed out that was against their own written rules and she relented.
That said…we’ve been treated poorly at check-in some other times when we’ve used Booking.com. It appears many hotels consider Booking.com guests second rate or suspect because they don’t make as much money from them.
They have plenty of high end attitude…but…don’t let that fool you…don’t expect a 5 star high end experience at this hotel…
