The staff were incredibly welcoming and nice. We stayed at five different hotels throughout our stay in Italy and Nazionale hotel was the best among them. The room was super clean and comfy. The location is perfect. Breakfast was nice as well. We will definitely be coming back.

It was the perfect location. The standard room was lovely - very clean and comfortable with beautiful linens. The private terrace was an extra treat and it was lovely to sit on and watch the world go by. Staff super friendly too!

Excellent hotel

The situation of the hotel could not have been better. It was directly overlooking the harbour with a fantastic view from the balcony. We used the balcony a lot as the weather was so nice to sit out and have a drink or a read. The staff were very pleasant and couldn’t do enough to help us. The breakfast was good and there was plenty of it.

From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel so welcome — everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely cared about making sure I had a great experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, with charming, well-kept rooms that perfectly capture the relaxed elegance of Portofino. It’s in the perfect location too — just steps away from the picturesque harbor and surrounded by some of the best restaurants in town. Everything you’d want to see and do is within easy walking distance. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay during my time in Portofino. The combination of warm hospitality, ideal location, and comfortable accommodations made it a truly memorable visit. Highly recommend to anyone visiting this stunning part of Italy!

Staff were excellent, the location is superb. The room is ok but the “ bunk bed” style steps to the sleeping area were not ideal in the middle of the night! Also, the breakfast was just ok

Legendary just like Portofino itself.

Location wise couldn't be any better, just there in the middle of the Allure of the legendary Portofino. The hotel has that classic italian cosy charm. Clean, comfortable and on point with very nice toiletries. The room had even a spacious terrace overlooking the gorgeous pastel coloured little alleys of the fishing village. Breakfast starts at 7:30am conveniently, so you can start your day early. Attentive service from the Reception and even throughout Breakfast. All i need to add is that I would suggest Hotel Nazionale to anyone visiting Portofino.

The hotel is in a great location to be a center of everything, very nice breakfast with quality foods, I love fresh orange juice. The room is big and comfort. Staff is extremely nice. It is really a good place to stay.

Nice hotel but smells like a perfume factory

the location was excellent

The hotel smelled like a perfume factory! they had perfume stick diffusers everywhere in the halls and even in our room. I had such a bad reaction to them, I was up almost all night sneezing. Even my husband who doesn’t have allergies was complaining.

Finding a reasonably priced room in Portofino is difficult, but this was a good choice. Quiet and comfortable. close to everything. good breakfast buffet. friendly staff

A MAGICAL experience in Portifino!

From the minute we arrived we were estatic about the location to the water, the friendly welcome and service getting our bags to our room. The large area of a sitting room, bedroom and bath was a nice surprise. We headed out right away and as we passed the desk we asked numerous questions about the area and if the water and other products in the little fridge were free. The desk clerk said they were free and answered all of our questions. The location to the restaurants and shops was amazing, as well as the easy walk to the beautiful church and monestary. We did not want to check out the next day, it was so perfect! The owner called us a taxi to get us to the train station and someone hauled our bags up the hill and got the luggage in the car for us. I will visit again….we loved every minute!
