Good location but disappointing

The location was very nice, right on the lake and walking distance to center, restaurants and bars. The Belle Epoque bar was very beautiful. Staff at the reception were very welcoming and helpful.

Our room was right next to the service room so was getting quite a lot of traffic and noise. There were empty plastic water bottle and candy wrapping under the bed I am guessing from previous stay. The bathroom had stains of humidity and spider webs in the corner which I was not expecting in the hotel of this caliber. The hot water pressure in the shower and tap was really bad. The spa had a very nice winning pool but the steam room and sauna were quite small. Steam room was barely steamy and actually quite cold. We also went for the NY gala dinner which was quite disappointing for the price we paid. Unfortunately neither the dinner nor the entertainment lived up to the expectations.

Great location, but not a real 5 stars experience.

Great location, friendly staff. Breakfast was OK.

Ice-cold bathroom - no floor heating, one radiator that was off. After I turned it on it took a whole day before the bathroom was somewhat warmed up. I booked two equal grade rooms, but they had big difference in size - one was really roomy, the other one more like a regular small room, although equally priced. The so called garden view is actually a not very welcoming view to a technical backyard. We were on floor 1 and it was like better keep curtains on. Indoor pool was rather cold to our taste and kids refused to swim.

A fabulous hotel - with a fabulous staff!

Everything, from the staff to the hotel itself - is absolutely PERFECT. We could not have chosen a better place to stay, at which to celebrate our Anniversary. We were picked up at the train station, warmly greeted by the Front Desk Staff, and arrived in our beautiful room - to a bottle of Prosecco, and a kind note from the General Manager. We were treated like royalty throughout our stay.

a hotel that is not worth its money

location

I was happy when I got a superior room with a garden view, but the window seat was a smoking area and a chat area for its own staff. The sounds of conversation and laughter were disturbing, unfortunately it was a disappointment for me and my family.

The location is good

It was a complete fiasco. Even though I got a superior room,It has nothing to do with the room in the pictures. the backyard view was the smoking and chatting area of the hotel staff. The constant loud conversations, smoking and seeing the room disturbed me. It is definitely not a hotel worth the money.

The breakfast was great and the view is perfect while you having your breakfast.

The room was disappointing because it was not the same room as they show in booking and I talked with the manager about my complaint and they make a small discount which was very kind of them.

Five star price two star experience !

Location and access to the lake and mountain. Concierge very helpful and organised us a dinner reservation at a restaurant across the lake by private boat taxi

Our room (£500 a night!!!) had 2 windows one opened onto an outside kitchen and the other to the back of the terrace bar!! On going to bed we established that the air conditioning didn’t work (it was 29c outside) so we were moved to another room in a different part of the hotel at 10.30pm. Whilst the aircon worked, the new room was in a converted office building and looked out onto a scruffy car park and right next to a building site which started noisy machinery at 7.30am. The balcony had dripping “concrete” from the one above. We did get a part refund for our “experience” and the staff were fully supportive and very understanding of our issues. Property needs a full refurbishment.

Its location, its design, the views, the beds were extremely comfortable and the breakfast was amazing.

Some staff members were better than others. It is a very posh hotel with customers that have financial wealth and if you did not give off that vibe at times there was a small feeling of indifference from certain staff members.

Incredible spa in an old mansion!

It was such a nice old vibe but with modern facilities. The spa was amazing! Great location in Paradiso close to the boat and everything. Three restos with good food and top notch service. The breakfast had many good options!

They charge for every little thing. Like water was CH10 and they forgot to fill our complementary water in the room.

Fabulous stay!

Stunning hotel! We had a fantastic stay and the best hotel service ever. We were celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary and were surprised with a very nice treat in our room kindly prepared by the hotel management and staff. Bed was very comfortable, amazing view of lake Lugano, room was squeaky clean. Delicious breakfast and super friendly, polite and very well trained staff. The front desk staff was fabulous and made us feel very welcomed. Ilaria linked provided us with the best restaurant recommendations. Beautiful spa with super attentive and kind service.
