Very well appointed cottage. Comfortable and well equipped. Kindling and logs left for the wood stove, though we didn't need much. Overall good value.
A small number of things needing attention (none adversely affected our stay).
There was quire a lot of sheep droppings at the entrance ramp and front door step that we need to clean to avoid bringing it in to the house.
The shower head fitting is loose and doesn't stay up in use.
The smoke detector is missing from the living room.

loved the house - so cosy with the log burner and comfy reclining sofas. Fantastic kitchen and dining table. Great views from living room and kitchen over an animal farm next door - such funny animals. So close to epic walks and days out! Absolutely loved our stay! Owner was really quick to respond as well.
Clachtoll was stunning! We walked the coast, chambering over rocks, looking out to the epic views. Recommend walks: Clachtoll beach to the Broch via the old croft village behind the information centre.
Cliff walking other side of Clachtol beach where the spilt rocks are. phenomenal views.
Walk to Achmelvic via the old mill - right off mill goes to beach. left path goes to Archmelvic.
We climbed Stac Pollaidh - the views were some of the best I've ever experienced in my life! Drive the coast route to it, such beautiful landscape.
Lockinver great for supplies, fish restaurant and shopping.
Other nearby attractions: Information hut behind campsite. Geopark is so fascinating. Bone Cave. Old man of Stoer.
Thank you so much for having us! It was absolutely magical - the highlight of our roadtrip.

Great location and animals
DISHWASHER OUT OF ORDER. Lights out with no replacements. Could not reach Simon 48 hours in advance and after multiple texts and calls (the number didn’t work) we were very stressed that we wouldn’t even be able to get in when we got there. Day 2 Simon suddenly contacted us via phone and wanted us to take time to meet a gas stove inspector to help out with the annual inspection. No coffee pot or drip.

It was a total failure. When we arrived in the evening, we found that the house is uninhabitable. There was a pungent smell of oil in the air. The oil generator in the kitchen had a leak. Since oil fumes are hazardous to health, we wanted to spend as little time as possible in the house. We immediately contacted the emergency number of the placement agency Sykes Cottages. They wanted to escalate the problem to the owner and promised to get back to us the next morning. We spent the night in a cold bedroom with continuous ventilation throughout the house. We couldn't cook in the kitchen, which was particularly full of oil fumes.
Since nothing happened until noon the next day, we booked another accommodation nearby ourselves. Sykes Cottages offered us only two alternatives, but they were about 500 km away. Absolutely out of touch with reality.
But then the trouble really started, because they didn't want to refund us the money. Only after a few weeks and with countless inquiries and threats of legal action, the owner relented and refunded about two-thirds of the total price. So, in addition to all the troubles we lost about 250 GBP.
Conclusion: Not helpful, customer-unfriendly, really bad experience – never again!

Clean well equipped house.
Lack of decorations. There was one picture in the whole house. No dishwasher tables or washing powder in would expect at least one to cover you.

Superb location and everything was clean on our arrival. View was excellent and the location perfect for us. Wildlife in abundance and the farm next door had Alpacas and donkeys which kept us amused.
One light was not working in the kitchen and had been booked repeatedly by previous guests (It was fautly and not just a defective bulb). A few hooks for towels needed in the bathroom.

Facilities in house were good, house was clean.
Smell in utility room from septic tank, surrounding area not attractive, abandoned car etc . Need patio or grass for outside and need recycling facilities and bins. Shouldn’t have to store rubbish inside all week to stop it being ripped apart by sheep

Peaceful, warm and cosy. Enjoyed watching the animals on the croft next door.

The house could be absolutely lovely. The kitchen is exceptional - feels really high quality and has everything you need. Bathroom is good, with an excellent shower and large bath. The reclining sofas in the lounge are comfortable - though would benefit from a cushion or two. The large entry hall just needs a small sofa or two reading chairs to be a wonderful place to chill (with less-dazzling lights though). The location (Clachtoll itself, not necessarily where in Clachtoll the properties lies) is of course stunning - even the roads in and out are to die for. I loved being surrounded by interesting animals (alpaca and some of the fuzziest sheep I have ever seen) and presume small children will be enchanted. Very short walk to the beach/seashore...complete with adorable piglets. Excellent washing machine/tumble drier facilities. For a family of four would be good value.
A somewhat unwelcoming place due to lack of any ornamentation (and filthy door mat) - lounge would really benefit from a picture or two on the walls. The mattresses are quite bad - I tried two and both leaned/sagged sufficiently that I actually fell out and landed on the floor when rolling over. Cheap nasty bedding. There is no welcome note of any kind - sounds trivial, but something on where the rubbish and recycling go would be nice (I think guests are expected to take it home). The garden of which guests can "take advantage" is more or less a bit of scrubland - nowhere to sit on midge- and rain-free evenings. A bedroom wardrobe door mirror had been smashed some time ago (at least before the previous guests, who had also commented on it) leaving a massive lethally-sharp hole that could have inflicted a severe cut on a small inquisitive child (I felt uneasy about sleeping in the same room in case I sleepily stumbled against it in the night on my way to the bathroom). This obviously will eventually need be repaired (my genuine sympathies to the owners that some thoughtless guests have somehow done this) not so easy, but leaving it uncovered (at least lift the door out and remove it!) was the very worst of all the possible options. But most of all, as communicated within a few minutes of my wife arriving and refusing to stay, was that it had not been properly cleaned. Most guests may well shrug or not even notice, but this is a long-standing issue that has been commented on by various reviewers (use translate function in Booking.com) and in the guest book in the house. Toilet seat not clean (!?), 2nd toilet not cleaned, large rug in lounge absolutely filthy, fireplace and surrounds not cleaned, a dead woodlouse on the kitchen counter so it had not been wiped, and that sticky feeling of long neglect. Cleaning is known problem here - not acceptable that it is still encountered, even less so during a pandemic.

Absolument rien.
