BrijRama Palace, Varanasi - By the Ganges

Our family stay at BrijRama Palace was truly unforgettable. The magnificent palace and its exceptional Ganges-side location are impressive, but what made our experience special was the warmth and genuine hospitality of the entire team. Returning to Banaras as an NRI family after 14–15 years was deeply meaningful. The team took wonderful care of our children, introducing them to the city’s flavours - from chaat and kachori to traditional sweets and countless local delicacies. The food throughout our stay was outstanding, especially the memorable 10-course experience at AANGAN. Kathak and sitar performances, pottery, Jyotish, the traditional paan counter, boat rides and thoughtfully arranged excursions brought the culture of Banaras beautifully into our stay. These never felt like standard hotel activities, but like authentic pieces of the city woven naturally into each day. Even while exploring Varanasi, assistance was always immediate and personal. Special thanks to Arif, Kulbansh, Nitesh, Pooja, Chef Devansh, Sandeep and Cecilla, as well as the many others whose names we may not recall but whose warmth we certainly will. BrijRama gave us a beautiful combination of Banaras’s heritage, spirituality, culture and cuisine and helped our children experience its magic for themselves. Some places you visit; some stay with you. We left with beautiful memories, full hearts and even fuller stomachs -thanks to a team that always insisted on “just one more” Banarasi speciality! Honestly, nothing. The only thing we didn’t like was having to leave - the team had made us feel so wonderfully cared for that our stay felt far too short!

Brij Rama is an experience unto itself!! It is not just a stay. Beautiful renditions of the flute, sitar, and kathak every day, food reflects authentic Banarasi cuisine, the room, the amenities, the decor, the pleasant staff, the warm welcomes and goodbyes, every little detail thought through carefully to delight its guests. Chief Chef Arif was able to customize the meals to be spice free so my daughter could eat, and the reception team were so nice and wonderful!! We come back to Varanasi every few years and we won’t stay anywhere else again!
