We were welcomed warmly, with drinks, home-made brownies and a thorough tour of the house and yard. The peace, quiet and views are amazing! The house has a big yard that has several areas to hang-out and enjoy the outside and well-maintained grounds.

The house doesn’t have a/c The location isn’t as indicated in the booking listing. Payment didn’t go as per payment terms stated on booking.com due to a recent policy change enforced by the owner. This lead to a very unpleasant and confusing situation, which was eventually solved. This could have easily been prevented by communicating clearly who is handling the payment and how the outstanding amount needs to be collected.

Holiday home Raušel is on an exeptional position for who wants quietness and isolation. There is a forest behind the house with a long pathway up in the hill for who wants hiking. Down the meadow is a river Kupa just across the road. The main road has very low traffic, you can dance on it :-) River Kupa is about 12 kilometers from the spring, is still wild and cold, but nevertheless, bathing in the river on a hot day is an great expirience. The Kupa spring is a nature jewel and must see expirience. Apartment is equipped with everything an family needs. The BBQ is great. The terrace has sun just early in the mornig and the whole day is in the shadow. For those who like the sun, there is a table with chairs on other side of the house. The host is great, he wanted to give us a welcome drink and explain everything, but unfortunately we found ourselves suddenly in a rush, for a reason explained below.

I have to give potetnial guests a warning to not find themselves in the situation we did. It has nothing to do with the Holiday Home Raušel, so this fact had no impact on the quality of the accomodation or description of the House Raušel itself. If you need a connection to the outside world, you must know that the village Turke is very isolate with telecommunications. There is no WiFi in the House, which is correctly advertised. But, there is none croatian telecoms available, and just one from Slovenia - A1 telecom. So, if you want to have a connection to the outside world you need to have a phone which is compatibile with slovenian A1 network. Unfortunately we had a croatian T-com network which does not want to make roaming connection with slovenian A1, so we had to rush back to Delnice to buy croatian A1 sim card. I assume slovenian A1 will work too. But, beware, if you buy a package for unlimited internet for tourists in Croatia - it does not work in roaming, so you just wasted money and time. So, buy ordinary A1 card for 20 kuna, fill it up with 120 kuna and choose a tariff you want. The best signal is on the terrace, a bit weaker is on the western side of the exit door, and weak in other parts of the house for internet, phone works everywhere in the house and around. On the description there is advertised an air conditioner. There is none in the house, but really in that climate is not needed. There are pictures of the mobile jacuzzi, but for that you need to ask beforehand and pay extra.
