The house is beautiful. The resereve is on your doorstep. I love that you can order boxes of food kits that you can make/ use or you can even have food catered in your house. The kitchen and bedrooms are great. everything was perfect.
We didn't know that the garden cottage was ours and was very confused that i was missing a bedroom the first night! only on the second night did we see the new room and moved one guest down- a proper handover would have been expected.

We have stayed at the house several times over the years and it still has charm and style. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We had dinner one night at the main house, which was great. Otherwise we used the braai by the pool. Managed to get a nature drive one evening and saw a few animals, including a family of bat eared foxes. One tip, always take warm clothing no matter what the weather is like. It is always windier and colder away from the house. One of the game drive guests mentioned a pair of Barn owlets were in the farm silo and we managed to photograph them the next day. Went to the tortoise rescue centre and had a really good chat with the lady who was busy measuring the little ones ready to put them out into the larger enclosure in the reserve.

This was our second visit to Bartholomeus Klip, this time staying in the self catering Wild Olive Cottage, which gave us the spaciousness of a home, with the wonderful cooking and staff of the hotel on our doorstep - so no self catering happened!
Loved everything. Would cheerfully have stayed another week.

This is a re-visit to this cottage after a break of 10 years. It was and still is a lovely cottage to stay in. It was a little too cold for a swim in the pool, but that meant hiking the reserve was more pleasant. Saw`lots of wildlife and wild flowers. We ate most days at the main house. Love the organisation which waited for us to go to brunch and then did the housekeeping while we were away. Lots of evenings spent on the stoop being entertained by acrobatic bats weaving in and out of the columns. Very pleasant and helpful staff.
