Le Ragnaie

Staff made us feel at home.

The building and surroundings were beautiful. The hotel is very stylish yet authentic, it was incredibly well maintained and every detail was considered. The breakfast was fresh and delicious - so much choice! And fabulous coffee.

Le Ragnaie is a beautiful place in a lovely setting, with attractive grounds, good views and a relaxed sense of space. The property has a luxurious feel, and the surrounding countryside is peaceful and very pretty. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and overall the accommodation was clean and well maintained. The grounds were one of the highlights for us, with lovely views across the surrounding area. The breakfast was generous and varied, and made for a good start to the day. Many of the staff were friendly, helpful and clearly working hard, which we appreciated. The location worked very well for us, although visitors would most likely need their own transport to get the best out of the area. It was a short and easy drive into Montalcino, where we found free parking without difficulty, and there were plenty of interesting walks, views and places to explore nearby. We also found some excellent little gems to eat at in the area, which added a lot to our stay. We did enjoy our stay, and there is a lot to recommend here, especially if you are looking for a spacious, comfortable base in a beautiful part of Tuscany. For us personally, it perhaps felt a little less warm and personal than some of the other places we stayed on our trip, so while we appreciated the beauty and comfort, it did not quite have the charm we had hoped for. That said, it is still a lovely property in a wonderful location, and we are glad we stayed there.

Our room was close to the main entrance walkway, which meant there was regular foot traffic past our door and window. As a result, we had to keep the doors, windows and curtains closed for privacy, which made it harder to fully enjoy the setting and atmosphere from the room itself.

Overall nice place to stay. Apartment are nicely decorated, you feel like you’re in Tuscany. Very nice sunset views.

The beds were very uncomfortable. It certainly felt like. Queen bed, and didn’t feel comfortable for 2 adults. The pool was very cold, not ideal especially for a child. There were no umbrellas around the pool. There is no wine to buy at ragnaie. There was one lovely lady at breakfast (black shorter hair), but the owners really couldn’t care less about the b&b guests. No coffee machine in the room. No way to order cappuccino at breakfast, only black coffee. There are a few things I could go on about. Our stay was okay, but there are many other places to stay
