Very clean, and good value for a budget stay

This is a very nice small hotel near the main plaza of Odeceixe, if a bit impersonal. The owner greeted us in the street from her balcony and that was the only contact we had. Our ground floor "Double Room with Terrace" was nice (there was not, as the name implies, a private terrace), with an excellent view of agricultural land and coastal mountains. Street parking was trivial. I would have liked a slightly lower price, but the value was quite good, 41€ for two, Sunday, mid-April. Odeceixe is a major overnight stop on the famous 226 km, coastal Trilho dos Pescadores, so there is a large ebb and flow of international hikers every day. There are dozens of lodgings, many of them at a higher elevation than this one. There's also a substantial selection of dining, including an all you can eat Asian at 14€ for lunch.

Location was excellent. It's basically on the route for the Fisherman's Trail. There are some really good restaurants in this city, and I recommend the Blue Sky. Water was hot, the outside balcony had a clothesline, bed was good. After a long day of walking the trail? It worked for us!

I mean, nit picking here, but come on. Needs a little polish. Nothing specific I didn't like. The wifi didnt work for us, not a deal breaker, but a slight inconvenience to be sure.

- Central location - Cheap - Pretty much clean, not perfect but ok for a basic room

- Paid for a room with a terrace and got a room without a terrace or balcony, just a window - Didn’t see any staff at check in or check out, a cleaner gave me my room key and then at checkout I couldn’t find anyone so just ended up leaving my key on my bed, very hands off approach - A little yappy dog in the garden that barked NONE STOP. I love dogs, in fact I’m a dog sitter, and I saw this in other reviews and thought they were overreacting, but this dog is SO annoying barking all evening and straight back to it in the morning.
